Wearing a watch for a MC road trip

So I'm thinking about going on a long trip on my vintage Yamaha bike.
The route I've planned is about 2000 kilometers.
I guess it's going to be a bumpy ride based on the roads as well as the vehicle itself.
The thing is that I recently found out that I'm a one watch kind of guy and have only been wearing my 116610 for about a year. But I've been looking for a quartz watch suitable for this ride, but haven't found anything that I find attractive. Mostly been looking into G-Shocks and Seikos.
Basically I'm wondering if it is as a matter of fact plausible for me to wear my sub for this ride without worrying about the vibrations and eventual distress this ride would cause the movement.
If this is a totally ridiculous question I would like to rephrase it as; would you recommend a more suitable watch for this occasion?

Been riding for almost 40 years. Rarely wear my crowns on long rides though vibrations from the yamaha won't affect the watch IMHO.
A big digital watch with large fonts and bright display at night is best for riding.
MC rider wearing a sub attracts a lot of unwanted attention.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Don't want to seem pretentious. So, what are you wearing for your outings?

Along with small "lunch time" rides of 200 or so miles that I'll sometimes take 2 or 3 times a week with my brother, we usually take a longer tour of 2500 miles or more. Last year it was 8500 miles.

This year we thought about Alaska but decided we're going to ride the Mississippi River from its headwaters in Minnesota to its mouth at the Gulf of Mexico. From home, to the ride and back will be about 6000 miles.

Always when I ride, I wear my Exp II and my brother will wear his Sub or his Breitling. If my buddy goes along, he'll wear his TT Sub or his TT Breitling.

If you wear ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time), no one but you knows what's on your wrist.

That sounds just about awesome, I suddenly feel more confident wearing my sub for a ride like this. Do you possibly have any pics or videos of your trip?

A $4.50 Champion runner's watch alternating with GPS watch both sturdy and weather proof. I like riding in the rain

I would vote no watch for a trip like that, or a beater if you are going to wear one.

What model vintage yamaha do you have? I have a 71 DT1E that I recently got back on the road from a basket case. Frame, motor and 5 boxes of parts. Just did the rings and oil seals and took it out for a 20 mile shake down ride. It's a fun bike but I couldn't imagine doing any kind of distance on it!

Defiantly, I'm going to wait a couple of months until the snow is gone, but after that I'm going to try and film and shoot!

I usually wear my vintage Omega Speedmaster MKII (racing dial). It's on a soft rubber strap and is very comfortable.

When had to use the MC for a daily transport don't mind which watch to wear. For a long trip always take my Tissot PR50 automatic. Very thin so never uncomfortable with the jacket or gloves! A friend of mine had an accident many years ago and when woke up at the hospital his sub was missing!!. For a long trip better a cheap thin watch IMO.

Aw, man. That's just awful :( I feel you going for a quality timepiece albeit in a different caliber. Good choice

I had several Yamaha's in the past. I recognise the best one I had was the 2002 XJR 1300 SP. I'm still in love with this one, hope in the future I will find a good one again. Don't like electronic injection, prefer carburetors models!!

Bear in mind if you come off......this is how your Rolex could end up.......which after a bike crash will be the least of your worries. (I ride too but always wear a Citizen Eco Drive when in the saddle).
