My Sub date as my first Rolex
After researching for a while (mostly on here, thanks a lot guys!), I finally decided to get my first Rolex and it is Submariner Date! I picked this one because I want a watch that 1) is plain and black 2) goes well with everything - casual, dressy and sporty 3) has date on it (just my preference) 4) is durable 5) is classic. I was hesitating between GMTii BLNR and Sub Date. I feel like BLNR is dressier because of the PCL. But my wardrobe has more sport clothes and I don't want to worry about getting scratch easily on the PCL. I know that a lot people wear Sub, but I don't mind. It is my watch on my wrist.
There are a lot of people who decide between GMT BLNR and Sub. They both are beautiful. I know it is hard to decide but it'd be helpful if you consider about what you exactly want and without thinking what others would think about your wrist. Unless you can get both lol PS. My first time seeing Sub was the time that I went to an AD and saw it in person and tried it on. It made my smile. It is a lot more beautiful than pictures on the internet. here is my picture of my beautiful Subbie! |

Congrats the subc date was also my first Rolex. Then I got the BLNR. Why not have both? Lol

Congratulations, lovely watch. I had a similar dilemma a few months ago and went for the BLNR. I'm sure I'd have been just as happy with the one you went for... Enjoy!

I was tossing up between brand new ex 2 or used subc date. Sub won out and I couldn't be happier. Cheers

I had the same exact dilemma. I, too, went ahead and bought a Sub C with date for the exact same reason you outline. Awesome watch that looks great on you. Congrats.

Great choice. It was my first and although many have been flipped, the Sub always returns.
