Thoughts on this 14060m?

So as I'm dealing with a severely over polished 14060, outlined in another thread, I'm already on the hunt for its replacement. Before I make another buying mistake I wanted to get some opinions on this piece.

It's a 2006, 14060m Z serial number. The seller is asking $4,900. Per the seller, "It has recently been cleaned and polished by an authorized Rolex repair person."

Any and all thoughts are very much appreciated!

You can click on the pictures to enlarge. Looks pretty good to me and doesn't appear over-polished from what you've posted. Price may be a bit high unless it's complete (where's the green hang tag?). Assuming the bezel turns without issue and a close inspection doesn't reveal any deeper scratches/dings, has been recently pressure tested and is keeping good time, would say it certainly should be a contender in your decision making. Good luck!

Crown guards look overpolished, and why would a two-line Sub come with a red cosc tag?

Adam is 100% correct! The crown guards are way over polished, almost to a point and wrong tag. Good catch Adam! Keep looking for a cleaner example is my recommendation.

Its not the wrong tag it should have no COSC tag, as that model was not COSC tested, although exactly the same movement in those that were tested..

If it were me, I would save up additional funds and purchase a brand new Sub.

As much as I like the new Subs, I have a soft spot for lug holes and two line dials :)

I would much prefer to own a pre-ceramic reference such as the 14060/16610.

It's interesting hearing the discussion regarding the tag as this is being sold by an AD. Would that raise a red flag about the AD in general?

The 14060M is from a different dealer than the over polished 14060. I notice you're in Tampa. Is there a dealer/retailer that you recommend?

Yes, I understand that. I was asking if the seller of the badly polished one accepted it back and issued you a refund.

In Tampa, there's AD Mayors for new Rolexes. A couple other local jewelers like Mavilo and Arthur Yates usually have a few pre-owned models in stock, but you can find much better deals from trusted forum sellers. I've dealt with forum seller "lawrenceb", who is here in Tampa, and had a good experience.
