Ok Fellas I did it!.......I survived my 1st Rolex purchase

After an exhausting and debilitating month of research which included but was not limited to : Memorizing countless Rolex model numbers and Serial # years, looking at a million internet pics, Correspondence w/ every crap seller on Chrono24, recalculating the money in my checking and savings every hour, waking up in the middle of the night out of a dead sleep and being unable to go back to sleep because of my inability to reconcile the potential anxiety and discontent that may arise w/ a 36mm watch on your 8" wrist...and for good measure , buying the wrong watch then returning it ( a 34mm Air King ) And yes questing my sanity.

I have finally successfully completed my first Rolex Purchase and subsequently took delivery of a Rolex Explorer 214270 G ( 39mm ) early this morning.
Purchased from a reputable forum member/ seller . This watch showed up w/ all paperwork, tags, receipts and was in mint condition.

Immediately after unboxing , This watch was taken directly to the Rolex USA Service Center in Los Angeles for verification / authentication Not a local AD , I went straight to the bat cave .

It passed w/ flying colors .

Thanks to all the forum members that helped me through the buying process. Most of whom I've never met. Just countless guys who typed their experience unto the keyboard and posted on this site year after year so dumbbell's like me might learn a thing or two. I read thru a sh*t load of archived posts here.

Thanks

Ok, so here are some quick & dirties......More to come

Congratulations, great first or possibly "only" Rolex. That reference was a close second choice when I bought my Submariner in 2013. That is one "do it all" model.

Welcome and congrats .
Sounds like you have a similar condition that many of us have. Only a real WIS will grind on a watch purchase like that. Awesome stuff.

Hahaha. I remember I was like that with my first Rolex purchase . Now I decide on a gold sub while browsing the forums one night and wire my AD 35k in the AM

Congrats, I loved the 214270 when I owned it. The older model is great bang per buck now and you can probably replace dial amd hands if you like to newer version at service time. Win win.

Too true. Congrats, we all started out with trepidation but at least you were smart enough to join this great forum and buy safe.

Congrats! You are a true WIS. And you got what's, in my opinion, one of the greatest references. I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy it!

Wear in good health for years to come!
