Trading in/up at Tourneau?

Hello everyone!
About two months ago I purchased a ceramic no data submariner through them, now I'm really missing the date and torn between not having picked the GMT master blnr.

Has anyone had any experience with trading in a watch at Tourneau?

You'll lose quite a bit. Go with a trusted seller.

Hopefully it's in LNIB condition and you can do a face to face deal in NYC to retain as much $$ as possible

If you enjoy being low balled and offended then by all means... If not I would contact a trusted seller or maybe sell it on here first...

Sell the watch on your own then buy a new watch. Trading it in is quick and easy, but your wallet will take a heavy hit.

Would never do business with tourneau. That is a place to go for those that don't have a clue so gather the good advice provided here and use it to go get yourself a good price on your piece and a great deal on a new one!! Good luck.

Agree with above. Sell by any other means than at that store. Use a trusted seller and save thousands on another new sub w/ date.

You would understand that their BP is retail less say 38%.

Factor in that this is now second hand and you would be lucky to receive 60% of their BP given that they may have to check it over and make a profit.

Could be you would be offered as little as 40% of you initial outlay.

Sell it privately and you will recoup more but this could take time.

Yes you will be offended by Tourneau's offer, but don't expect much from any dealer who plans on selling it for fair market value while also making a profit. Sell it privetly to someone who plans on keeping it.

I looked into the same thing many many years ago with Tourneau, they took my watch in the back and when they came out with, 3 things:
1. A lowball offer to buy
2. Deducted from list price on a new piece.
3. They scratched the hell out of the lugs removing bracelet.

terrible idea as you've probably ascertained from others by now... but I am just +1'ing their sentiment.

Not a good idea, as others have said.

You can either sell it yourself or contact a trusted seller and flip for what you want.
