Don't you hate it when... (salespeople)

I was travelling for work this week, and I went to two Omega ADs in Brisbane and asked about the Omega GMT 300M. Neither AD had it in stock. In both stores, the salesperson tried to tell me there was no such Omega, that I must have it confused with "Seamaster 300M" as "no GMT would be 300M".

I really get annoyed when I know more about a watch than the salesperson. In the end, one of the ADs rang through to the supplier and told me he cold get the watch, but it was being discontinued and didn't I want to buy something more "current".

Get used to it mate. It happens all the time. In fact, each time it happens to me it's when I walk into a 'strange' AD, as in one I do not already know personally.

Classic. You couldn't have been an easier sale. You asked for X and they said why? "Why, because you want the commision don't you?"

Jedi's right...happens all the time.

We always know more than the salespeople. For them, its a job. They don't like it. For us, a passion.

how true. i've learned to have very low expectations in this regards, however, when you do run into a knowledgeable and straight-up salesperson, it's like a breath of fresh air.

Yes, and equally dangerous to your wallet. haha! Sometimes, great salespeople can also be quite troublesome because they bring you so close to buying something you weren't even looking for.

Great choice with the Omega GMT Wil.
I have one and it is stunning to look at and exceptionally comfortable.
Make sure you get one before they disappear !
