First Post - Wanted to say Hello!!
Greetings my fellow Rolex enthusiasts!!
My name is Paul and I am from the Washington DC area. I am so glad to have found this forum. It's nice to see others that appreciate ROlex as being one of life's little treasures to appreciate. I made the mistake of participating in a thread on a financial site that asked what is your favorite luxury. WHen I said Rolex, you would not believe the flaming I received. Basically I will be homeless and eating dogfood in retirement. Anyway, I know everyone likes wristshots so here is my attempt at photography. I'll get better with time. Each one has a little story behind it. 1) The LV was purchased in 10/2005. Back then it was the next Daytona bar none. Impossible to get. One AD in Dallas had one and the nice young man that showed it to me almost got fired for doing so. Apparently their policy was 10K minimum purchase would allow you to buy it. WHile in BOston visiting my friend I walked into the "Big T" and was chatting with the manager about one...my 40th coming up, etc. She just smiled and nodded. She could have told me to go out in the middle of the mall, strip and howl at the moon and I probably would have done it. Anyway, I had to beg but I got it. They even charged me for the extra link. 2) My DJ is pretty much my every day wearer. Jeans, T-shirt whatever I just like the way it looks. Got 10% off and a FREE link as well. In the DC area, discounts are not that easy. I also had aspirations for #3 in mind. When I asked if 12-18 months was reasonable he seemed ok with that. 3) Got "the call" in just under 6 months of #2 purchase. He calls the cell and I'm talking with Mom on the home phone. I set home phone down, answer cell, start laughing louder than a hyena and forgot about Mom. O well. 4) Most recent. Had the GV in front of me but to tell you the truth the white dial smiled at me better. Actually got a small discount as well. Enjoy the pics. As you can tell I really like variety. I am also really amazed how popular the SDs and GMTs are. I also heard the LV may be discontinued when the new sub comes out. Anyone else hear that? |

Welcome, thanks for your introduction. Interesting how you prefer the white dial Milgauss, I like it too.
With your photos, I don't know what camera you have, but on most there is a 'macro' function and is normally denoted by a tulip flower symbol. If you use that you should get much sharper and focused photographs

By the way, do you have a link to that thread you referred to? Sounds entertaining.
