Worn 1680
Hello all,
Was offered this 1680. Looks to be fairly correct as far as I can tell. Fairly worn, but fat font insert, bevels on case present. Certainly not a safe queen, but not priced like one either. Am I missing anything? Thanks, |

One thing that jumps out is there is a lot of corrosion on that case back. I would be concerned about sealing issues.

That's a great-looking red 1680. Worn, yes, but a cool vintage Sub for sure. Little bit of discoloration on a couple of the hour markers, especially at 6 o'clock, unless that's a shadow.
However, the corrosion would indeed concern me. What did the rear case and movement look like? If the case back is like that, I would think there might be other issues. |

Inspect the movement for signs of water damage and replaced parts. _________ Instagram: @onthedial |

Thanks. I do suspect there may have been some water damage at some point.

looks good, with the original crown and suspected water ingress I would factor in a service, but great looking case so it ticks a lot of boxes.

compare the thickness of the crown guards, the top one appears to be pretty thin...

The case appears to be in excellent condition with no obvious signs of polishing. That the crown guards a a little asymmetrical is not something I see as a problem
