Rolex Serial Numbers
Can someone tell me can you tell the year of a modern Rolex Watch by the serial number. I know that modern Rolex Watches have random serial numbers but can you tell the year of the Watch by them

With the new random numbers, the only way to tell is by the sale date noted on the warranty card.
This is of course the day it was sold, and not the day of manufacture....

Rolex Service Centre can tell the date of the watch from the random serial number, it's just the general public who cannot.

X2. Doesn't matter. Just go by card date. It's when warranty starts. Watches aren't like cars. Won't hurt it to just sit a year in the case. Other mfgrs watches sit a long time. I know the AP I purchased sat for 2-3 years before I bought it. Didn't bother me at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
