9315 disaster
Friday , I go up to London have two folded links fitted .Today I am checking the work and to my shock something is wrong.I thought they would have added the links at the start being they are small links but it would appear they split between link one and two and added the two links.
To my thinking these are actually links three and four , The previous owner had two links taken off I assume moving link three to the clasp |

I was shocked , I won't say who did it but didn't even check as I expected it to be correct and was just grateful they had fitted two links .

Very unprofessional but not the end of the world. It can be taken apart and reassembled properly. Unless you have a really small wrist, the accepted distribution is 5 links on the 6 o'clock side and the remainder on the 12 o'clock side. With the small, non-tapered links placed adjacent to the clasp.

It will require several of the center sections to be pried open and closed to get the placement correct for best appearance which is probably why they did it this easy way to begin with.

The first 4 links on older Rolex bracelets are tapered with the last one ending at 16mm.
When one of those "permanent" links is removed the remaining permanent link only tapers to 18mm. All added links are 16mm with no taper. It looks like the previous owner had removed a permanent link and the vendor you sent it to did exactly what you asked; added links.

I believe if they had added these two links to the clasp and hadn't split the links in the bracelet it would have been fine, The really annoying bit is this is a Patent Pending Bracelet off my PP DRSD and I wanted it just right .fwiw I am sure the mistake can be corrected and all will be sorted next week . |

you know who I used and I never even thought to check , I just thought they do this all the time so it would be done properly , I was in shock this morning . I think if they take the first three links off and put the two new links at the clasp, and number one link back as the third link it will be ok. Totally don't know what he was thinking, Schoolboy error in my book . Are you having a nice time and how is the weather ? |

Yes all good here and at the airport waiting to come back home! I have a printout at home with all the link sizes etc and will fire it over tomorrow. I also have to say that I am very surprised by this and another email to your man could be in order and I am sure he will be just as shocked and surprised as us.

Hi,
I sent a email first thing Thanking him for sorting out the confusion last week and making this happen , I then said how I was a little shocked this morning when on closer inspection I found this little fubar. Awaiting his reply . On a side note I am told PY is a master watchmaker and knows his subject |

I really hope its a quick easy fix as another Technician who had worked there 22 yrs said they had all the link sizes but were just careful how they use them up as there won't be any more . The 9315 drawing supplied by diverdick is excellent . Bests |
