They are all OK but you have to do them in the correct order in Vegas!

Jeans are ok, but he had skinny jeans and a man bun. He's lucky he didn't get a lifetime ban on the spot!!

I don't know about this article. In La Jolla where we live, we regularly eat at all the top restaurants (had dinner last night at Nine-10) and people wear jeans, and even shorts, at all of them. But maybe this holds true for NYC.

Many of the top restaurants in NYC have relaxed dress codes. Typically a shirt with collar is mandatory and no sweats or team logo's. Jeans are a tricky thing because some guys can pull off jeans with a jacket and others cannot

Off the top of my head, I think only Jean Georges, Per Se, and Daniel have a jacket requirement.

I while back I travelled to Washington DC fairly regularly. I stayed at the University Club. The dress code was jacket and tie even for breakfast . At the time I worked for a technology company so I generally had breakfast sent up to my room

This is the norm in SoCal but I can assure that you would be turned away at some fine restaurants on the east coast if you show up wearing short. I've had to wear a loaner jacket before, jeans might be okay but forget trying to dine there if you're wearing shorts.

It's really not worth your time....

"Don't be afraid to speak up about food allergies".... "Don't yell 'waiter'!"....etc.

Bartenders love when you snap your fingers at them.

It could be worse.

I was just watching an Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown episode on Myanmar, and apparently you attract your waiter there by making kissing noises.

He showed a whole room of diners making kissing noises at the wait staff. It was odd to say the least.

I tend to either snap or whistle to get a wait staff person.

I get some funny looks sometimes, but it works like a charm.

That doesn't work too well down here. I've seen a bartender kick a guy out for doing that. It was awesome. She was about 5'11, 190lbs or so and tossed that guy around like a rag doll. It was awesome!!!

Yeah, that didn't sound like something you would do. However, I have seen some behaviors up in the Philly, jersey, NY area that are pretty rude but seem to be common there. I will say that every TRFer I've met have been stand up people....well, except that Paul guy.

This reminds me of the scene from Slums of Beverly Hills where Alan Arkin whistles at the waiter at Sizzler and calls him "Jackson".
