Daytonas in NYC

I am considering purchasing a SS Daytona from a trusted forum seller. Before I do, I would like to try one on.

Can anyone recommend a store in NYC that has them in stock? I really do not like dealing with overly aggressive diamond district dealers. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Your only hope is to try on the PM models and imagine what a SS feels like.

I've been there, I think you have two options, try finding 116520 or visit an ad and try on a TT one. I tried on a Steel and yellow gold one.

Do you mean the Daytona C, or the previous generation (116520)?

If the Daytona C, there is absolutely zero chance of finding one "in stock" at an AD.

The diamond district guys have them, I have seen a black one in a window there - your only shot in NYC of trying on one is with them, so you'll just have to deal with their salesmanship unfortunately.

I'm guessing the Rolex/Wempe boutique on 5th Ave has a couple in the basement. Whether they let you try then on is another question. Purchasing them is definitely out of the question. Unfortunately a

Any AD in NYC probably has a two tone or one time I tried on an all rose gold piece.

Thanks all. Yes was looking to check out the 116520. Can't find an AD with new or old anywhere. I guess I will swing by diamond district.

Check out Sea Wave Diamonds on 47th Street. Ask for Emanuel. Solid guys that let me try on APs and DaytonaC's (yes, they had both black and white dial in the shop) with ZERO pressure. The brothers that run the place are super laid back and are true watch guys - they were happy to shoot the breeze and talk watches.

Pricing is inflated, of course, but nothing that crazy when you consider they have to pay for rent and our "trusted sellers" don't.

I will check them out. I think I saw they had one listed on Chrono 24. Are they legit sellers that I should consider purchasing from if all else equal?

I haven't actually purchased from them. The AP they had which I wanted (black dial 15300) I ended up buying off the forum instead. But everything I saw with the Daytonas made me think they're legit: boxes, warranty card, hangtag, stickers, etc.

No harm in walking in and getting a feel for the place in person. I will say that I've already bought a half-dozen watches from other grey market types, so that may put me more at ease compared to someone who's only previously purchased from an AD, however.

Like others have said
Unlikely unless diamond district
But u should be able to get sizing by trying on PM Daytonas
Problem is that it is not exact
It will be heavier and lugs are symmetrical vs asymmetrical on the SS version
