Is leaving the plastic on parts of the watch bad

I noticed today that my AD removed all the plastic except the one on the actual watch back and the one between the clasp back that touches the actual band on the Milgauss, the part that says STEELNOX, but on the opposite side of the printing.

Should I remove these, or is leaving it ok till they fall off? Don't know if they were intentionally left on or just missed.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Corey

It is likely they just forgot to remove them.

People on here are extremely zealous about removing stickers and hard on people who don't. But the reality is it doesn't matter whether you leave them on or not.

Well actually it does.

The sticker accumulates dirt and grime and become a breeding ground for bacteria and moisture to sit on the watch. They serve no purpose except to prevent scratches prior to the watch being sold.

Err, I would beg to differ. Have you ever seen a macro shot of the crud that builds up behind those stickers over time??
Not nice, trust me you really don't want that micro germ fest living on your wrist

if the stickers are visible it looks tacky IMO.

Some people put plastic covers on their couches too. The attempt to preserve their appearance just makes them look worse.

No difference to anyone here whether you do or you don't. It's your show, do what you want!

But to echo Brian's sentiments, stickers will get nasty over time with sweat and grime buildup.

These countless "should I remove the plastic sticker" queries is almost like asking if one should remove the foil wrapper prior to eating a burrito.

Remove all stickers and wear it with the original oyster bracelet (my answer to your other question in a different topic).

Good one BC
I'm in the desticker it camp. Why have sweat and grime work its way underneath the sticker? Take 'em off I say.

if you leave it on, the watch will spontaneously combust after 5 days.

It seems they let the sticker on the back so you can see it has not been opened. That is what i heard from my watchmaker.

Don't know if it is true of course :)

Do not worry about any scratches that will occur over the bracelet over time. They will occur, and is part of the charm of the watch. When you send the watch in for service, you will have the option of having the RSC polish it or not. The polish is another debate all together, as some feels it devalues the watch, while others like the new shine it provides. It is your watch, you decide!
