Finally centered

2 months ago I got my 114060 and had it sized at the AD. it always bothered me that the clasp was a little off center on the underside of my wrist. The crown would more or less align with the center if my wrist so the whole balance looked off. I left it alone bc I previously had an issue with a pin falling out, so I didn't want to mess with anything that wasn't broken.

Today I was walking by another AD and in 5 minutes they moved one link over to the other side. Now the clasp is more centered, all is right in the universe and it won't constantly eat away at me.

I wanted to share because I can't think of anywhere else where others would understand my feeling of peace right now. Also I included a lume shot, bc I feel no photo post is complete without a picture of the dial.

Did you move one link from the 6 o'clock side to the 12 o'clock side? I am having the same problem but my AD told me that I do not have an more removable links on the 6 side. My wrist is 6.5 inches

Have you used all the glidelock adjustments?

Correct. My wrists are 6.75 and here is the setup I now have and where the glide lock lies

Only the first 3 links (those closest to case) on each side are not removable. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, which is only 1 inch larger than yours and wear 5 on the 6 o'clock side and 5 1/2 (SS) or 6 (Precious Metal and most non-Glidelock) on the 12 o'clock side.

Everybody's wrists are shaped differently but unless you are wanting to only have 2 links on your 6 o'clock side, you can remove more than whatever you have. I'd be shocked if 3 links on your 6 o'clock side and 3 1/2 to 4 links on your 12 o'clock wouldn't fit or even be snug on you actually

I'm with you all the way. Call it OCD, call it whatever, but I like to have my clasp centered, too.

+1

I've got a fit on my sea dweller that is around 98% right, but I'm feeling the urge to visit my AD to try to improve on that

Awesome to hear, congrats! I too went through a similar issue recently with my 114060. Much like you, I now have the perfect balance and it makes the Sub all that much more enjoyable to wear!

Know exactly how it feels to get that perfect fit, and how easy it is to overlook something as simple as moving a link from one side to the other. Glad you got it sorted!

This is big for me. My 114060 is centered. Wears comfortable. Now my favorite is my BLNR. Wears comfortable too but for some reason I can't get it centered without sacrificing comfort ness...

Good lord! Finally the Ying and Yang in balance.

I have same configuration as yours; 4 links at 6, 5 links at 12, glidelock on last or second notch of the extreme.

When I got my first Rolex the AD put 5 links on each side and it never sat right. One day I read on here to try 4 links on 6 o'clock and 6 on the 12 and it worked like magic. Felt so much more comfortable on the wrist and the watch didn't keep turning outward which annoyed the hell out of me. Glad you got it figured out.

I'd question the technical chops of any AD that doesn't understand the basic rule of having more links on the 12 o'clock side...it's really a very basic concept that's been the case for decades.

I agree with you 99%. My subs are set up like you describe and they fit nicely but My BLNR and GMTIIc ended up with 5 links on each side to center the clasp and watchhead. Have messed around with different link configurations and micro adjustment positions and came back to 5 and 5. The fit is OK but the watch does have a tendency to shift to the outside of my wrist. Maybe my wrist doesn't fit whatever mold Rolex uses when designing their bracelets.

I do agree with this but at the same time I recently took a trip to a Rolex boutique and the rep there told me that he recommends the same amount of links on both sides. Strange right, and he seemed to be the go to person in the boutique for sizing.

I went through the same scenario with my Omega. I totally get it. Cheers to looking down and smiling instead of thinking, "I really want to get that fixed."

On my 7" wrist, i first tried 5 links on 12 o'clock and 4 on 6. The watch didn't sit straight, the case was hanging towards left or right. Did the opposite, no longer the problem. The clasp isn't centred but it doesn't bother me. Maybe 4 on each side would solve the problem of the clasp.
