They stick like glue!!
Today was the day I rid myself of the ugly wheels that came with my 540. I have never liked the original wheels, but have lived with them for a few years. New wheels came over the winter, and today new tires as well.
Here is what was on the car: They were 16 inch wheels, and 225 wide tires. I opted for the Michelin Pilot PS2's for the new wheels. 235/45 R17's on the front, and 255/40 R17's on the rear. They look much better, and they stick like glue! I was amazed at how well these hold the road under hard cornering. Sweet......I had quite a grin on my face on the drive home this afternoon. There was a problem with the offset on the rear tires, so they had to add a spacer, and then the new bolts were too short. So I had to scramble to find new bolts at the local performance parts dealer, since they put another customers bolts on my car for the weekend. LOL! So back to the tire shop next week, and then I'm all done. I have to say the car rides great! Thanks for looking. |

Looks good. I am always amazed at how changing the rubber can add so much to the cars handling.
Enjoy. I much prefer the 5 spoke wheels

Very nice set of wheels Al,and far more easy to keep clean. The Michelin's are a great tyre, quite running and plenty of grip.

Al, those wheels transform the car's looks. With the old wheels, its a great car but kinda pedestrian looking. The new wheels make it look waaaaaaaaaay better. I love it!
Glad the boots work nicely too. |

AFAIC, you can't beat Michelins. I have Pilots on my PT Cruiser GT Turbo, after the OEM tires didn't even last 2 years.
