15400OR vs. 15202ST

Hey Gents

I need your help here again. I feel as though i may have made a BIG mistake. I just flipped my jumbo for the 15400OR. I haven't yet worn the 15400 besides out the dealer to my house, so i could possibly take it back and reverse the whole deal.

Do you think I've made a mistake or have i just bought an equally special piece.

Nope. I’d make that trade. Anyone that has a 15400or that wants to do a straight trade for a 15202, let me know!

I figured. I probably wouldn’t do it either but the 15400 is a great watch and the or version is even better.

My first thread/post on TRF:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=547552

In my situation, it was the 15400OR on strap, so the choice was perhaps easier.

I have a small wrist, so the 15400 would be a bad choice either way. Plus, I've come to realize since then RG is not my cup of tea - it's too flashy for my lifestyle.

In your scenario, if you do like the rose gold, I would still undo the trade, and trade for a 15202OR. Best of both worlds.

I'd agree with tng11 here. It may be up to your lifestyle and how useful you find the OR to be over the ST. For me, I enjoy a bit of bling so my choice would be the obvious OR. Either way you have yourself an awesome watch! Good luck with your decision!

Because of my occupation, neither the ST or OR will get much wrist time. Ill wear them once a week on average. What worries me most is the question of whether ive let go a really unique piece. Even though ive replaced it with something that is a statement in itself, is it just as coveted and unique.

Perhaps the 15202OR would answer all of your questions?

I would keep it, and trade for the 15202 OR once it's here

Might have to consider this an impulse purchase. I think what ive learnt most is that i truly did not appreciate the jumbo until it wasnt mine anymore.

The 15202 is one of the greatest in terms of size. I think I’d pretty much any mans sweet spot. Big wrist and small wrists alike. But the 15400OR is a beast. I personally would of done that trade even if you had to add cash. The true sweet spot would of been a jumbo in RG.

If your wrist can handle the size than I say you should wear your 15400 with health and happiness.

15202 fitted like a bespoke piece. 15400 is slightly too big (lug overhang). Agreed, the sweet spot is a Jumbo in RG. At the moment im leaning toward reversing the trade and holding onto my 15202ST until a 15202 in RG is available and then take it from there.

Fair enough, altho I think the 400 bracelet is divine so I'd enjoy it for a while longer before flipping to the Jumbo RG.

I prefer not to loose money on the 400 so ill return it in a practically unworn state and take back the jumbo, whilst i wait for the RG version. At least thats my plan. I hate this situation, I want everything.

Maybe biased as I got 15202ST just recently, size and proportions are absolutely perfect (having also ROO)...whatever comes next its a definite keeper...

Its back!!!

See the above link for a little write up of the emotional roller coaster from trading to regretting to having the jumbo returned.

One thing for sure, I will not consider trading again. If a RG version comes along i will be seriously tempted, but other than that i will not budge. Time to appreciate this piece for what it is and enjoy it.
