I picked up this Tudor Auto Prince in a 14k gold case at a local auction. I am interested to learn more about the watch and especially the movement. It was given for 25 years of service in 1974. Thanks, Brian

Thanks for the reply. The movement is marked 25j. Were these movements supplied by ETA with the the rotor marked TUDOR AUTO PRINCE?

Tudor did not have an in-house movement back then. They would modify an off the shelf ETA movement.

Yes. standard ETA movement then as stated by Matt,TUDOR modified to their own preference like the Rotor marking.

Ahh steamships... they were huge business before diesel freighters & jumbo jets (so I'm told).

Thanks all. Canadian Steamship Lines operate on the great lakes and Saint Lawrence river as well as many other places. Former Canadian Finance Minister and later Prime Minister Paul Martin was the the principle owner. The watch was presented to DR. J.C. Dickison for 25 years loyal service. No info on Dr. Dickison

Csl is still an impressive Montréal company. Great piece. The engraving reminds me of the font on the Stanley cup.

CSL downunder is Serum Labs

Our biggest famous steamship entity was Adelaide Steamship, in its heyday was huge conglomerate involved in many modes of transport up to & including founding local airlines ANA & Ansett. Sadly both Ansett & Adsteam are no more today, having been ravished by bankruptcies over recent decades and what's left of the shipping biz sold off to Maersk.
