How do you check the fast/slow running speed of your watch?
How do you folks check the accuracy of the time keeping on your watches?
I asked this in another thread, but I thought I’d just start a new thread because it was off their topic. Thanks. |

There is clock at the top of this forum. I set my watch to it at 8am then check where it's at the next morning at 8am.

I use WatchTracker app.
I use this app for a period of a month, to keep track on how my watch behaves when it's worn or stored at night. Using this app I learn that my Explorer usually gain about 1.5 seconds when it's worn for 10-12 hours and lost 0.9 second when stored crown up at night. Averages 0.5 spd. My Speedy otoh, it gains between 7-9 seconds per day. After a month of observation, I stop checking my watch's accuracy, and only sync my Speedy every Monday morning, it usually gains a minute a week, or when I travel crossing time zone. BTW I also have Emerald Time app on my iPhone. Nice app and it's free. |

Use a reliable source like time.gov, not a computer clock or your cell phone. Set and check, check a week later and divide by the days to get an average daily variance.

If I'm late or early to the mailbox to pick up my welfare check.
Things have been pretty right on lately so I guess I'm within tolerances. |
