Sleeper Cars
I love sleepers. The cars that look like your grandpa would drive, but will blow the doors off of most things on the road.
I like to browse Craigslist for cheap cars and maybe find a deal. Well I stumbled upon this today. https://chattanooga.craigslist.org/c...436657780.html Owner emailed me back. Makes 680WHP at 16 PSI Lets keep this thread going and post any sleepers you find or own!! |

lOl thats great. Not as much of a sleeper but I once had a n54 335i with stock rims & cans but worked(chip,DP's,FMIC,DV's,PSS) putting down 475-500 crank HP. Was great watching peoples faces when they thought they could BURN a stock 335i. To this day the only cars that challenged her were a 911tt & gallardo after 4th gear.
Great thread!

I had a pretty well built Trailblazer SS with a magnacharger on it. Problem was keeping the transmission in one piece.

Have to find my videos of it somewhere. Had a big cam and the supercharger, long tube Kooks headers with cutouts. It was a sleeper, until I hit the button for the cutouts. Then someone knew they were in deep doo doo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I cannot find my videos. May have died with my old computer. They were about 10 years old. But this is about what they sound like when you open the gates to hell. https://youtu.be/9Jj8mn7s_0k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I built a 64 El Camino back in the early 90’s. Looked stock but had a built 454 in it. Still sporting the 283 fender badges. We cut GM rally wheels and extended them to fit 33 inch rears and Art Morrison did the tub and frame work. With a tonneau cover on you could not tell it was tubbed unless you were behind me. Great sleeper car. Turned consistent 10 second 1/4 in Street trim.
Guys would always pull up in various muscle cars and try to pull me. Got some pretty funny looks from folks once they could hear and see it go. Unfortunately no pics. One of my favorite cars I ever built. Love a good sleeper.

I can only imagine the sound the blow off valve would make on anything with so much boost! That would be my first indication of potential odds lol. |

also not a sleeper but Jaguar supercharged with shorter pulleys are insane. Drove one once that really didn't open up until about 50mph and then it took off, to 100-120 in seconds. very difficult, but also necessary to show great restraint with it.

I built many years ago a 1980 E21 323i bmw with a Ford 302w in it..... that was a wicked little sleeper, was a bit hard to hide the sound of it but to look at it she was just a little old bimmer.
I even modified the rear 323 badge from a 320i to read 302.... well i thought it was clever keeping in mind i built it back about 1991 .... if i can find some pics ill put them up
