New Pepsi Really a Raspberry

I have not handled one, but I have seen tons of pictures side by side.

I don´t like the blue which is purplish, nor the red which is pinkish. The bezel looks like a raspberry and does not deserve to be called the Pepsi.

I will not be a taker of this watch until Rolex gets the colors right.

Maybe the colors are the reason "every AD probably has one"

its probably because its WG. Same issue with the sky dweller and thats why the WG is gone. The colors are softer and not aggressive like the bright red and blue aluminum pepsi bezels so its different absolutely.

Its not supposed to appeal to everyone thats what the sub is for. They make AK and YMII and models on OF too and not everyone is on board with them either. Thats OK, but its not wrong

Ditto

The 5digit Pepsi color was great...for 1980’s
Hence, it looks great as a vintage watch.

For the new ceramic age, the current “Pepsi” color is more modern and appropriate, imo.

Maybe they could market it as having a vintage patina look to the bezel colours? ;)

I'm sure it'll look good in person. The quality will shine through.

Ceramic has no patina except for when it shatters and has to be replaced.

The pictures and videos you have probably seen are all indoors and with poor lighting. I would wait until you see one in the metal first.

Plenty of threads already on the forum criticising this watch. If you don't like it, and you might want to sit down for this one, don't buy it.

Trust me, they won't force it on you. More likely than not, you couldn't get one if you wanted at this point - at least not for a few years.

Beyond that, as others have alluded - thanks for your contribution.

A lot of people including myself have the same issue.

I don't think the colors are a big deal, you just have to like them.

What I don't appreciate is Rolex heavily editing the colors they use on their website to make them look red and blue when they aren't.

Agreed. Although one could look at a WG pepsi to get a true sense of the bezel color. I don't really have much choice on the CHNR (but I'm hoping the editorial pieces I've read/seen show a true representation).

I fell in love with and went to buy a BLRO until I saw it in person. I love the heft, the feel of the gold, etc. but the colors IRL just aren't as they appear in most photos. I assume, because it's what I read everywhere, that the bezel is the same for the Pepsi. So even at half the price, I still don't want it.

Very well written review. If Ben Clymer is a member of this forum, hopefully he sees how true editorials are done.

This thread is definitely a raspberry.

One less person on the waiting list for one means those of us waiting will get one sooner.
