Case engraving
Not too sure if appropriate but saw a nice reference for sales in Garage sales and the case engravings are very much off to my eyes. Im new to vintage, is this the norm in vintage pieces?

Looks correct to my eyes for a mid- to late-'60s 6239 Daytona. They were engraved using a rather primitive transfer stylus type engraver and they always got hung up on the vertical broach lines, casing the letters to have "squiggles" in them. What looks off to you?
Posting photos of the dial and bracelet would help us determine more about it. Heck of a watch to start into vintage. Edit: The 6234 Chronograph looks correct as well for a late '50s / early '60s model. |

We'd really need to see the face/dial and bracelet for the full story, but everything looks good to my eyes in the photos you've posted. |

Any tips on how to determine if it’s legit case and bracelet on vintage piece in particular? |

So far, everything you've posted looks authentic. Post photos of the dials of anything you're curious about and we'll try to help. Dial and hands go a long way in value. |

Yup. Dial and hand will be my next to learn chapter. Now I’m stuck as to identify a genuine and period correct case. It’s really a lot to learn.
