Am I unusual
I would like to sound you out.
One week I like my watch collection then I want to change/ flip some. Is this unusual or is it the nature of the game? I am always changing my likes and dislikes is that usual/ normal? Please put me out of my misery. |

I don’t see anything strange about it. I know lots of guys that are chronic flippers and they get their enjoyment out of always having new.

Wear some in rotation and put some away and don't see/wear them. Then reverse order. Also stay away from watch forums or internet sites, as there is always some new watch to enthuse over when you are blasé about what you own. Sadly there is no known cure for your dilema, just temporary measures like this.

Happens to me all the time. I don't think its unusual at all.
I'll see something sparkly that catches my eye and then momentarily (for like a day or a week or whatever) I'll convince myself that I like that piece more than some other piece I already own. It's generally just a short term impulsive desire that fades away. And then I realize how much I actually like and appreciate what I already own. If that desire persists longer term however, then perhaps its worth acting on...

I would set down rules, such as no new buys within 2 months, and no new watch sold within 2 months, just so you don't make decisions too impulsively which can lead to seller's remorse.

I'm the same way. In retrospect, I regret 'trading up' my first automatic watch for something better. Only the first one! No attachment for changing any of the others up.

Another question what do you think is a “reasonable amount to lose on a sale” . I always lose money. I buy expensive and sell cheap can’t seem to get the hang of dealing.

Sure, when I browse new watches on ablogtowatch or hodinkee and reading about them, I am often salivating over adding new piece/pieces to my collection...
Then I just pick another watch to wear the next day from my collection and I fall in love with it again... |
