Would you like Rolex to make other products then watches??

Hi fellow Rolex lovers,

How would people respond when Rolex decided to make products different then watches? I am currently writing my thesis and investigating just that, and I need Rolex owners for my survey.

I am in desperate need for more respondents who own a Rolex so could you please click on the link and participate in the survey, it takes approximately three minutes.

https://uvafeb.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/...jZZFr6OcQp0jGJ
Then I can graduate, I would be very grateful!

Also I would be interested to discuss it with you guys, so replies here would be welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Not really, all the other gifts they make are fine with me, altho they were made and then bought by ADs as gifts for their clients but I'm sure that has near stopped now so won't be seeing them any more, but umbrellas, wallets, ties, discrete caps, are fine by me.

Why would we want them to make something else we can’t get. Or have to wait ten years on a make believe list

Heard a rumour about hybrid car with the dash clock being a Daytona dial but then apparently it’s a 7 year wait list but you can get it earlier if you buy either a two tone truck or solid gold airplane.

Would you want your airplane manufacture to also make skittles?

Where are we able to get a box of the Rolex chocolates? I'm assuming only an AD gives these as a gift and they're not for sale anywhere? Since a Daytona with a chocolate dial is out of my budget right now, these will be the next best thing for me!

I have a Rolex hat and other accessories. When I buy a hat for approximately $10k they give me a free Rolex.

Thanks for the responses, very interesting. Could you guys please also click on the link and answer the survey? I need the survey answers in order to graduate. Because then i can calculate the results exactly, and draw conclusions.

I opened the link in a safe partition and it is valid without cross-links, redirects or malware (at least known malware that Sophos protection affords)

The new product is a Stopwatch - so closely related to Rolex brand watches - not an airplane, or an auto, or anything outrageous.

Without giving TRF members a unique identifier you will not have a way to adjust (by giving a differential weighting factor) for watch collector strata bias vs. the general population.

You may want to add a question like “where did you get the link to this survey?”

Good luck on your brand value thesis.

I saw such a question when I took the survey.

Interesting!!! When I took the survey it was a bracelet. I'm thinking this is something other that what it proclaims.

Those who haven't taken it, do the fellow a favor and take sometime and answer the survey. Your answers here don't mean a thing.

I did take the survey - I was the one who assured the readers here that the link was safe!

I encourage everyone to do it so your opinion counts

No, it would only dilute the brand. I am glad Tudor doesn’t have “Rolex” anywhere on it to not diversify the “Rolex” name.

Without biasing any respondents answers, the slant is whether the perceived value of a hypothetical new product, a stopwatch, would be enhanced if made by Rolex. And conversely, how would the same new product affect the existing value of the Rolex brand.

It is an interesting topic regarding Rolex brand equity, transference, dilution & extendibility.
