First of many posts...maybe you can help.
Hi there this is my 1st post! I began poking around the net and found this great forum a few days ago. So many great watches in the gallery. My second Rolex is definately going to be a Kermit sub but I need to nail down what the first will be.
My first Rolex will be a Datejust and I also plan to order a matching DJ for my wife to be. Now all I need to do is figure out how I want to order it but need help! A local AD has a SS DJ with a Rodium face with roman numerals, fluted 18KG bezel and jubilee bracelet. I attached a photo of what it looks like and although I like it it seems a bit too busy to me. I wonder if it may look better with a smooth bezel and jubilee bracelet or maybe an oyster bracelet and fluted bezel. What do you think? I was hoping some may have photos of what that may look like or maybe just good with photoshop :) Thanks! |

Hey jet..WELCOME TO TRF!!! DJ is the most longest production model of Rolex...i think almost everyone at one point started on a DJ...The one you posted is very nice..i think its very classy...but it seems like the watch never smile back at you..i think in your mind your looking at a sports models than a DJ...but since you want a paring one with your wife...get something with a simpler dial....Dj has the best his and hers watches and so is the DD...i love the flute bezel than a smooth one because smooth bezel can be easily get scratched...I hope that helps...your from toronto we have a lot of people here from Canada....

Welcome, and I respectfully suggest the fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet. That is a classic look.

Welcome to TRF. I bet after you've been here a while you'll find exactly what you'd like as your first Rolex, and it may a watch you haven't seen, or considered, yet.

Hi, I love that DJ. If you find it too busy try without numerals. Just stick markers. It should look "plainer".

Welcome!!! My first DJ had the stick markers and my wife wears a mid DJ now. I moved on to the SUb and EX2.
