SS sport model discount from trusted sellers?

I assume it's unlikely nowadays given circumstances, but is it considered bad taste to request a small discount from a trusted seller on SS models (SubC, Milgauss)?

Not a chance in this environment. Expect an upcharge, to be exact. You will likely pay more from a TS than MSRP @ AD

Of course you can ask a trusted seller for a discount off of their listed prices and most expect you to!

You can always ask. Worst thing they can say is no.....but you assumed correctly, they will leverage the current environment of course.....they're making a living after all like everyone else.

Some models that may have hung around a month or two at their asking price would be a likely candidate for some price flexibility by the TS.

I’ve seen some Daytona500’s going for less that last year’s asking prices. Until you ask you’ll never know. I do believe your approach could affect the answer.

For example, pitching lowball offer below MSRP for a watch with an asking price $5000 above MSRP would likely get no response. Same for “What’s your Best Price on this?”

Good luck in your quest.

So they ask above MSRP and you are willing to pay a premium when going to them. No harm to ask for some discount and most likely they will give you some % off but that doesn't change the fact that you still pay above retail.

Bad taste ? I'm sure they expect it and have a little wiggle room. Every time I asked I got something off from an AD or a grey dealer, including my last four purchases since last november, and yes all four were new SSsports. -7 to -9% off MSRP. Never ask until your ready to pull the trigger.

You can ask for discount. But discounts on Rolex are long gone. MSRP is new discount :)

I don't believe its in bad taste. I'd just message them and tell them what your price is and if they can locate an appropriate condition watch for you. I mean you're probably not going to get a new Sub for below msrp but you might find a clean excellent condition with a 2010 serial for a good price. Or you might find a 2015 serial for a few hundred below msrp. Depends on how old the watch is and the condition. I know that DAVIDSW always has clean and excellent condition watches. So I'd start with him.

Might even consider a trade of your 116710LN and get a sweet deal. Heck I bet you can get a Milgauss for next to nothing. When you pull the trigger remember to let us know and post some pics!
