Just wanted to get some thoughts -- which yellow gold DD 40 dial combo do you think is the most versatile?

Either of the silver's. I voted Silver no motif but either one looks great and is most versatile. White is to sedate, I sometimes feel white dial on YG DD is a wasted opportunity.

WHITE on yg is so sharp and crisp and its easy on the eyes
I find the silver is a bit dull and wont be easy on the eyes as you age |

I think the silver motif is the most versatile... just not sure the dial is so readable. Lol.

In the YG model...I personally chose the silver motif. I feel it most versatile because the motif dial is very playful (so to speak), the stick markers are a little less dressy than the romans, and silver goes with any color attire...IMO

The numerals on the DD40 are my favorite from Rolex. I think it looks great on a silver or white dial if you're doing YG.
RG with Olive dial and numerals is a jaw-dropper as well. |

While I generally prefer Romans - I like the stix for the ygs. I don’t like any of the dials with the Romans

I went with the black dial! I think its versatile and the motif dial comes to play in different lighting situations.

I like the white dial with the Roman numerals best. It's classic, versatile, beautiful, crisp, and legible.

After owning a white DJ as my first Rolex, after 18 years, I decided that I wanted a black dial DJ.
Made the switch 6 years ago and I am very happy with the change. Me - loving Black. Also picked up a Sub for the same reason.

Black or silver waffle stick dials.
Romans numerals are so “rest home” looking.

in all honestly there is no "wrong" choice with any day date dial. They all are beautiful in their own way.
