Submariner 116613 LB too dressy?

I have recently chopped my SS Airking and Milgauss for a two tone Submariner bluesy which I like a lot. One thing that nags me is it seems ok for daily wear as goes well with a suit but should I purchase another SS sports model to wear for casual? It appears a little blingy when wearing jeans and t shirt at the weekend.

IMO 116613 can be worn up or down, it has subtle bling to it. When I wear my sub c it feels off cus the weight feels different now that I’m used to the two to e

I dont think your watch will care whatever you are wearing it's just a watch whether TT,SS, or solid gold.

Wear it with anything. Suit or shorts it works.

The 116613LB works better casual than with a suit, a SS is not going to change that

LB works great for casual. Somehow the blue just works with jeans or shorts.

I agree

I can't really think of any Rolex watch that doesn't look great with jeans/casual attire.

It works for up or down. It is a little more flashy but anything beside SS is more.

I think it's the perfect watch, period.

I don't ever think it's a "bad" idea to have a steel model (or three) lying around for more adventurous duty, but, I think the bluesy is about as good as it gets.

I find the color of steel, gold, blue bezel and sunburst blue don't work well together. Better to get the PM variation

I wear mine with jeans and tee all the time

In fact it goes better with blue jeans rather than a navy / grey suit

I bought a Rolesor (TT) Daytona w/black face to wear as a dressy/work/suit watch to complement my GMTII but I now find the Daytona can be worn anytime as well. I've never been a TT fan but when I actually tried it on, it looked very elegant on the wrist.

TT is the best. SS is for those that can't afford TT or PM. Trust me I know what I'm talking about. Smart young buyers are snapping up TT.

Agree

Unless you need to pull a hard one (credit report) to get a watch, anyone that can by a SS can afford a TT.

The full Gold is a different story.

The blue makes it a lot more casual imo. Why I opted for the 2Tone GMT IIc as it fit all avenues dressed up or down.

While I'm not a huge fan of TT anything, I see the LB in all situations. Wear it whenever, however.

I just bought one and wear it even around the house in t-shirt and shorts, although admit going shopping last weekend with it on made sure to put on jeans. I didn’t buy it as my one and only watch (Rolex or otherwise) and wouldn’t have purchased it with that in mind. I use it to expand my versatility after having a SS piece.

I wore a 5 digit 16613 with a Serti dial 24-7 for 6 years and nobody ever said squat about what watch I was wearing. I loved it and should have never sold it.

I’d rock a bluesy casual and dressy, I’ve seen it in both situations and it looks sharp.

Yes.

I concur it's a bit too blingy, which is why I ended up selling mine although I thought it was (and still is) a beautiful watch.

Completely agreed. it is a beautiful watch, but hard to wear with jeans and a T shirt.. Plus whoever speaks to you stares at the watch all the time. Same thing with the TT Daytona.
