1st Panerai
I just received my first Panerai from my wife for my 30th birthday. I was torn between keeping it and getting a DSSD, but in the end, I decided to get both. I love this 243. The more and more I look at it, I keep wondering if I am going to even get a DSSD, but I'll wait till it gets to my AD.

Congrats on the 243 !! Welcome to the Paneristi world Now, with so man Panerai models to still explore,why even consider the "Original Patended and Inscribed Helium Escape ... blah blah " ????   Panerai is soooooooooo much more fun !!!!

Love Panerai BUT I just do not like the submersible ones for some reason.
I have the DSSD and LOVE it! Regardless you are VERY lucky to have a wife to buy you such a beautiful present and there is no way you should return it! Wear it in good health and get the DSSD when finances allow if you still have the itch

I was in an AD over Christmas and they had a 243. I am not a huge fan of the submersible. However, it was very cool to see in person. Congrats!
