Incoming: New Truck!

So I lived downtown and leased an Infiniti Q50. I leased expecting to live downtown for at least 2 years. Fast forward 3 months later I decided to build a house out by my home town. I had 15 months left on my lease, and was expecting to be over 10-12k Miles, had a cracked windshield and big gash in my front bumper. To put simply I was going to be in the hole about 5k when I turned my lease in.

I always wanted a truck or a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so started to do my research to see if a dealer would be willing to swing a deal. Nothing against jeeps, I love them, but they are awful dealerships. They don’t negotiate at all. Either way found this Chevy Colorado midnight edition and fell in love. Was able to swing a great deal and they bought me out of my lease! Love this now!

And P.S. for all you mid sized truck haters, of it was up to me I would have gone full size, but I have to drive downtown everyday! And I personally love it!

Age and belly doth force a man into a full size truck.

The full-size regular cab, standard 6'6" bed Sierra parks like a car, but then you lose your back seat.

Right before the redesign I remarked to the local GMC dealership owner that the soon-discontinued GMC Canyon (Chevrolet Colorado) would be a niche small truck in demand. He responded that he had ordered six, and five were pre-sold.

Not that I would want to downsize, but the days of the small USA-built truck are definitely on hold. Maybe Rolex started it, with an Air King Supercase which wears bigger than a 5-digit Datejust?

Great trucks. I was always a Silverado guy but exactly what you said about driving downtown got me. The garage is too tight, the mall parking lot isles are too narrow. Just a pain in the butt now that I am more local. Traded the truck on a Wrangler for the wife and will mainly drive her Grand Cherokee. You are right about the dealers, the one by me leaves a lot to be desired. There is a new Jeep dealer that is a bit farther away but we may try for service if warranty/recall work is needed anymore in the future.

Congrats! I have a 2017 Colorado and absolutely love it!

I don't know if they still do this, but my truck came with no trays for the front console. Someone on the Chevy Colorado forum uploaded some downloadable files for 3D printing which I had made and are awesome. If you're interested I can dig up the info for you.

In either case it's a good place to look around and see what other people have done to their trucks. In my case, console trays and pretty much nothing else except for front end film.
