What will life bring to my TRF colleagues in 2009...?

Hi All

In my nine months of being a member on TRF I find it amazing how fond I am of this community.

I don't have that much interest in computers or IT and never dreamt in a million years I would be scrolling down to look at someone getting a wrist shot with a Great White lurking close by, or laugh so hard I couldn't breath by reading posts or be moved to tears by what I have read.

I initially used to read TRF for knowledge, but became drawn to it more & more for the humour. What a breath of fresh air to find a watch site where it's members aren't obsessed or snobby about their brand.

From Jocke's excellent pics to Larry's incredible knowledge, there is so much here it is an honour to be a member- truly. Oh yeah- then there's that guy called JJ. I still remember writing my first jokey response to him & thinking "damn- I hope I don't offend him..."

I feel quite priviledged to be part of a "team" where members can openly write about their son dying suddenly and receive constructive support, or explain their depression & again receive so much support & empathy. It really is humbling. Members sharing the birth of their beautiful children or openly writing that they feel everyone else is more attractive has been a revelation to me.

After the London GTG I have actually made real friends- from a cyber space!

I never dreamt I would take part in polls to discuss whose better, Laurel or Hardy and I still haven't found Chuck Norris...!

What ever life throws at us this year, I sincerely wish the very best of health & prosperity to all my TRF colleagues & their families for 2009.

Viva La TRF! The superior watch forum.

Nice post Tony!!!!!!!!!!

2009 for me...on here, more of the same I guess. I hardly cross over to the main forum now!

Off here...hopefully keep my job and put in some hard work with the blues harp...that is my resolution. On NYE it was to learn the guitar but the wife nagged about the money I've spent on harps, amps, mics and learning materials to be able to play a bluesy sexed up version of three blind mice. I mean, she doesn't understand the concept of tongue blocking, bent notes and rhythm harp and how just how great those three blind mice sound...I need to put in more work before I become Sonny Boy III.

mmmmmmmmmmm Lemonade....

US Lemonade, all lemony.

UK lemonade is kinda clear, fizzy, sugary stuff that does not taste like lemons at all....in fact it's what you guys would call Sprite or 7Up.
