Blue Skydweller

Wife was traveling in Europe earlier this month. I asked her to keep an eye out for a white ceramic Daytona or blue SD. Longshots, I know, but still. I've not seen a ceramic Daytona in person, but like the pictures. Tried on a gold one and it seemed small on my wrist and not nearly as striking as the white ceramic one. So, if I didn't like it, I knew I could sell it easily enough. Blue SD same thing, but pretty sure I'd like that one.

She checked a shop in a small town in Turkey and he said they are hard to come by everywhere.

On her way back, at Charles de Gaulle in Paris, she called and said she was at a shop that had both watches. I was shocked, then realized there must be a gray dealer there. The SD was 33,000 EURO!! The Daytone, 21,000 EURO! Yikes!!

I told her to pass.

On the good side, she said the blue SD was a gorgeous watch, so maybe someday.

Wow! That's an amazing price. I have had my blue SD just over a year and I love it still.

At that price it would have been White Gold Blue Dial one.

Profit margin of grey dealers is much better than Rolex.
Rolex is not stupid, very curious what's their next move.

OK, some more info.

The SD was 38,000 Euro. And it was a white gold. She doesn't remember the white dial, but does remember roman numerals.

Have to wonder what Daytona she saw, then. She had been traveling for a while, so was pretty tired. I'm guessing another PM model at that price, though low-mid 20K Euros doesn't match up with anything from an AD.

Guess she stumbled into the AD there at the airport. I don't know if there is a gray dealer there. Anyone?
