Chad, looks like a great time. I am curious, like the other members, about your injuries; we were all concerned and horrified over the seriousness of the crash.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. The lung has healed up pretty well and the ribs are getting there. I can sneeze now and it's just minor discomfort that goes right away. Saturday will be 6 weeks. They said 6-8 on the ribs. My collarbone was plated 3 weeks ago. That is the tricky one. Surgery went well, but it was broken in 4 pieces. When they put it back together, they stitched one and screwed the other fragment to the plate. I'm doing some light range of motion exercises now, but everything is so tight. Especially the incisions for the chest tube and where they had to look in my abdomen. The CT scan in the trauma center showed so much fluid, they though I had ruptured some organs. I'm on the path to healing. Got an apt with chiropractor and PT next week. Dr. Tom strongly urged me to see a cardiologist and get checked out. If I really did simply black out, it could happen again. I figure I'll hop on the trainer or do some short runs in another week or two. I'm definitely going to feel this one for a while.

IMSA at Road Atlanta
Chad - it was great meeting you in Tom’s paddock and hope you guys had a great dinner. Sorry I couldn’t tag along because we had to work the IMSA night practice.
Saw Tom again on the grid today and he said he had a great time. Just adding one of my pics today at the grid and then earlier at his birthday party. Couldn’t catch him in today’s pic since he barely got there before the 5 minute call. They are all packed up and gone now so onto working the 10 hour Petit tomorrow for me. This is a marathon week of racing. An old fellow driver last decade used to run both Porsche Cup races, the IMSA Prototype Challenge race and then double stinted between 2 cars on his race team during the Petit. I can’t imagine that - I was beat in my days of racing just doing back to back sprint races. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
