GMT Master ii 116710 LN

Any love for the LN? I know the BLRO and BLNR are the hot watches right now but honestly feel like the LN is a sleeper the all black bezel and hint of green make its so subtle and the perfect tool watch ... mine is getting a lot of wear .. hard to take it off!

I agree and feel it is a tad under appreciated or even over looked because of the fellow GMTs in the line up. It has a classic look with its subtle hints of green coupled with an amazingly useful complication. I even like the PCLs oyster bracelet (I know I'm in the minority) as I feel it gives the watch a presence befitting of it's avaition high flying heritage.

Love the green GMT hand! I think it’s one of the best bargains that can be had right now.

Certainly unappreciated with the SS shortage everybody has been talking about the BLRO, BLNR and CHNR. I find the 116710LN to be very classy and versatile.

To me it's a nice looking watch, and I prefer it over a current model Submariner, but if you're going for a GMT the BLNR is significantly more attractive.

It's a great looking watch. I prefer it over the 116610 these days. I've had a few of those over the years though. I've came close to getting one a few times, but went with something else instead. That might change sometime

I believe that's a Daytona crystal.

I bought a Daytona crystal and a green date wheel here on TRF (both new OEM) and had my watchmaker make the changes and brush the PCLs at the same time.

Nice. Getting my PCLs brushed soon, also love the non-cyclops look.

Classic in every sense of the word. While I like the Pepsi and BLNR in the case, I am afraid I would be self conscious wearing it as the colors stand out and Can appear like costume like at times.

Love mine. Still prefer it over SubC Date or the other SS GMT offerings, although I would love a CHNR rose gold one.

The 116710LN is my first and only Rolex. You guys can keep those very expensive colored inserts. The black insert works fine for me and my wallet...

Just got mine

I just purchased mine. I was going to re-sell it at first (looking at a Date-Just), but it's been growing on me.

I've decided to keep it and loving it more and more each day. It's such an easy, every day, all day wear. The watch has the features of interest while also fitting into any occasion (sports, casual weekends, office and formal evenings).

The LN is a classic. It's not shouty, eye-catching and does the job well, which is to tell time. Or as Rolex ad say, it tells history.

I own the BLNR and I absolutely love the LN. When I was a flight surgeon in the Navy, a pilot friend of mine came into the office to show me his new GMT-Master II (he knew I loved watches and recently picked up a Milgauss myself). I thought all the black with the subtle green accents looked great with our green flight suits. It had a real military look even though the green is intended to celebrate a Rolex anniversary. It's classic. They also look far more impressive in person than they do in pictures.

Classic, versatile and unappreciated.
Its a great watch.
but don't blame the BLRO/BLNR, this was always like that, even before the colored bezels its wasn't that sought after compare to lets say even the submariner.
I like it though

I think the 116710ln is one of the best SS models in the Rolex line. It’s baffles me that it seems to get less love than the SS subs as I feel it’s VASTLY superior.

I got mine in March of 2008 when it was a pretty hot model. It turned me to a once watch guy for about 6-7 years, but we all know how that goes....

This year I was fortunate enough to add a 116718 so I’m working on obtaining a 116500 to take the place of my 116710ln. Still a great watch by any and all means. In my opinion it’s the most underrated of all Rolex sports models.

The only thing the BLNR and BLRO add is the easy differentiation between day and night hours. This is part of the iconic style of the GMT bezel, but is largely not necessary since the sun doesn't rise and set at 0600 and 1800 respectively everyday.
