Rolex 6285 - Authentic or Steer Clear?
There isn't a lot of info on the Web about Rolex 1950's era watches nor are there many 1950's era watches for sale that someone can easily compare.
My understanding is that the 1950's era also represented a bit of the "wild west" for Rolex manufacturing and that there are variant characteristics in a lot of the early watches that sometimes even confuse experts. I'd like forum feedback on this 6285 timepiece, as the honey comb dial presents beautifully, however, the back case has some interesting qualities with its engravings (inside and out).
