Oh man Jim, you're bringing back memories that don't need to be brought back. '65 Mercury Comet Caliente 289 that lasted 4 hours. Oops. Did I mention my dad hadn't even had time to get it insured? Did I mention that was the end of days for me? Did I mention I hitched a ride my whole senior year? Off to college with a Corvair Monza which did 360's every chance it got. Most were unplanned.

Just like it but white on red. Dad was just getting broken in as I had three younger brothers following me down the road to perdition and only the youngest never totalled one. He did regularly take down the mailbox.

I had a 1963 Chevy Belair two door sedan with a 283 and three on the tree. It was a funny thing, that I spent more time in the back seat, than the front. I was driving all I could.

I wish I had that car today. At my age I would spend more time in the front seat.

1966 Volkswagen bug which I blew up with five friends ditching high school and going to the beach. my poor bug caught fire in the traffic circle in Long Beach fire department came, put the fire out and then they told away my car. we still went to the beach had a great time with my girlfriend, but came home on the RTD bus. I remember that day so well because that's the day I became a man with my girlfriend

Icon14 My dad's car (whatever it was at the time)

My favorites were a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix and a 1981 Oldsmobile Delta 88.

I was 16 in '82. I wanted a TA so bad but couldn't afford it on my own. I found a mint '74 Olds Cutlass cpe with a 350 "Rocket" under the hood. Did the prerequisite Cragar mags, Hooker headers and a nice set of 6x9's for the stereo. Med blue with a white landau top. Drove it all through high school. Had a nice sized back seat!

Looked just like this one but med blue w/white top.

Send me your Sub...no senior in HS should have such a watch. I remember how thrilled I was to save & buy a $500 all-analog Citizen dive watch (the first all analog of its kind) back in '94. Plus, I had to pray every morning my POS Mustang would start and I could make it to school. You're sporting probably two of the most reliable objects around - a Honda & Rolex. Punk kid!

Haha, I'll admit the Honda was funded by my parents, but the Sub was solely funded by me.

Sweet. I'm sure 99% of the kids you interact with on a daily basis have no idea what an amazing watch you have...I'm sure the majority of kids at my HS wouldn't have had a clue about such an iconic watch.

I'd just turned 16 when I finished high school in 1966, so my ride looked something like this.

Al, I had one. But mine had Ram Horn handlebars on it. Love the Sissy bar. God I miss those days Innocence

a '73 Corvette Big Block convertible... $7500.... 1982-1984 I think... it was going thru engines most of the time.

also had a '78 Buick Regal.

been outta HS about 24 years... hard to remember all the details... went to school with Lori Johns (top fuel dragster driver in 1988)..

'65 Mustang. I kind of cringe at the looks of it now (it was classy wimbleton white when I bought it, but I painted it this terrible Viper blue that didn't really turn out very good)...but I bought it by myself and did all the work to keep it running...at the time, I didn't think there was another car I would ever want/need.
