Wisit to my local Rolex dealer

Hey guys. I wisited a local rolex dealer today to see what models they had in stock they had a good selection of yatmasters explorer and two tone sub. However I wanted to try on the ss sub or Batman whitch they didn’t have. After talking with the salesperson about availability of watches he told me that I can leave a deposit I would get a Batman within 6 months and sub even faster. They actually had a Batman that just came in for one customer that they let me try on. The watch looked beautiful I am really sold on it.

Do you guys think I can ask for additional discount? The watch is 8950 and tax ads another 900 which is a lot. Do you think they would do 10% or 20% discount. Let me know what you guys think.

The reason they won't discount is they don't need to. The list of people waiting to pay full retail a moments notice eliminates any need for them to discount it. It's a simple formula of demand is greater than supply for this model.

Discounts are so three years ago. In today's market you're lucky to just have one available at MSRP. I'd take it and run home filled with joy.

Am more than 25 a loyal customer by a Rolex Dealer.
Not only Rolex Watches but also Patek Philippe (5).
At the end of August they offer me (out of the blue) a Rolex Sky-Dweller in Steel W Rolesor.
I sometimes get a discount but not on this one ! Did I ask for it ? Absolutely not !!!!

You wont get a discount on any of the sought after watches. Which AD was this though?

They will literally laugh you out the door. They go for more than MSRP for pre-owned versions.

if you put it out there the necklace might help eliminate the wait for a blnr

I would think it would need to be one serious necklace to even move the needle on the wait time for the BLNR!

I would definitely ask for a discount, αlthough you probably won’t get a big one, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got 5 - 7% being a long term good customer of them.
Good luck and don’t forget to post pics!

If you take some time time to go through some forum posts you will see many threads taking about SS professional shortage and selling at premium and wait lists spanning from 1-10 years and wait lists that are closed

If you have little to no purchase history and they put you on a list consider yourself lucky. As for discount ? Reading and understanding above it would be highly unlikely you’d get a discount on a SS professional Rolex

You should always ask. If you don't ask you don't get.

You won't get anything off a BLNR but that shouldn't stop you from asking.

I just bought a Blusey. The last three they have sold this year went for MSRP without any negotiation. I think that people are tending not to bother to ask.

first, you are lucky to find an ad willing to take a deposit and put you on their waitlist. Second, everyone and their mom believes the stock market is going to crash and the middle class will be participating in the hunger games. If this happens, you will definitely get a discount.

You may ask for a discount, but expect them to decline.

You may not be willing to pay full retail, but the next person on the waiting list will.
