Typical zenith discount from AD?
Hey everyone. I am heading to new york from Canada for a week vacation and would like to buy an el primero 38mm chronograph for myself. It looks like there are 3 Ads in NY. 2x tourneau and one cellini. I am wondering what an appropriate discount to negotiate might be as I am not familiar with negotiating on this brand or in the US. Hoping for 30% and wondering if this is realistic? I think the AD get the watches for around 50% of list leaving them 20%?
Thanks for any help. Josh

Even though they make great watches, I've never been in the market for a Zenith but I know they are discounted substantially on the gray market and resale is not good, so that would be what guides what type of discount I would expect. I will say that Cellini will give you a much better deal than Tourneau but that you could do better at a smaller AD in a different city.

Interested in where you went, Tourneau will not discount at all, may give you 30 month free financing but no discount. Did you get the discount you were looking for?

Good lord, man. Never shop at Tourneau. Literally ever. Their irrational, ignorant and often quite snotty. I highly recommend building a relationship with an AD by phone or buying secondhand for Zenith. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

ECJ Lux in Charlotte, NC ask for Chris Ward. They have always been great to deal with!

Just got a new 42mm from grey but wife holding till Christmas!! Paid $4100 US with box and papers. Also nearly did a deal on eBay for a mint pre owned model for way less than $4k but the timing didn’t work out so got the new one instead. There are good deals out there if you can put some time into it. AD would be my last resort for a Zenith because although they are great watches with history they value doesn’t hold at all so no sense in trying to haggle with MSRP as the baseline. That’s my opinion but your money so your call. Good luck, I hope you find a great deal!!

I got it from watchmaxx online. I think the model was discontinued so unlikely you'll find one less than MSRP. I actually see them going for higher now which is a surprise. Maybe newer models will be available at a discounted price.
