116713LN or 116710LN + Tudor

As many of you, I'm trying to hunt down a steel sport Rolex. However, it seems that the whole situation is getting worse, not better as my following example illustrates.

Just a month ago, one could get 116710LN without the need to buy an extra watch (if AD had it in stock/waiting list), but the rules of the game have changed and now the basic black GMT model comes as a bundle, too.

Having said that, I was presented with an opportunity to buy 116710LN bundled with a Tudor watch. Obviously, one can only choose what AD has in stock at the moment. I saw they had Pelagos and black/navy Black Bay.

Alternatively, I could go for 116713LN. It essentially costs the same as black GMT plus Tudor. 116713LN could be sold as a single watch.

What would you choose to do in my situation?
A. Buy 116710LN + Tudor
B. Buy 116713LN for the same money as A
C. Keep the cash

When it comes to Tudor watches, I'm not very fond of them due to chunkiness. I would probably try to flip the bundled watch, but most likely at a loss. Black Bay 58 is nice, though, but of course they don't have it in stock.
Now two tone watches, I'm afraid they're too blingy and I much prefer discreet look steel models provide. However, in a given situation I'm considering giving 116713LN a try since it's quite a looker.

By the way, it would be my second watch. I have manual wind Speedmaster, which is extremely versatile and goes well with everything. I'm not so sure two tone watch would be as universal and may attract unnecessary attention.

I mean, can you get the Rolex you want from a trusted seller for less than you’d pay for the Rolex you want + the Tudor, even after flipping the Tudor for a loss? That’s the math I’d be doing. I’d also factor in what my time was worth while flipping the Tudor. I absolutely wouldn’t buy a watch I didn’t really want or wouldn’t wear. Best of luck regardless of what you decide.

Where am I currently, I'd be very wary buying a Rolex not from an AD.

I'm not keen on flipping, too. For this reason, I'm considering the two tone as well. I actually like the look of it, just not so sure how practical would it be. I also like 116613LB, but that one is even more blingy.

Go to a different AD the 116710LN is hardly a batman it's not the most wanted watch in the world and you should be top of the list if you ask for one ..should get one at cost within 6 months

I agree. It's nuts that LN is being treated the same way as BLNR.

However, I've been ringing ADs and the one which had it, selling it as a bundle. Other AD implied the same thing, it will be bundled as well.

By the way, any members with 116713LN or 116613LB would like to share their current opinion on these timepieces?

I was looking around for a GMT Master II last month. The 116710 LN was available, but I'd probably end up waiting a couple of months for it. That was a little irritating, but understandable.

I checked out the 116713 LN, not ever really paying much attention to it over the past 10 years. I really liked it. The yellow gold added a little contrast and flash to the watch. I know the "two-tone" watches aren't as loved as the stainless versions, but it actually spoke to me. The fact that I liked it and didn't have to wait, not to mention a discount, helped me pull the trigger.

I have other stainless Rolex watches and PM versions, but this is my only "two-tone" watch. I really like it.

My vote would be 116713 LN right now.

P.S. It's not like the 116710 LN is a "tool watch" any more anyway with the polished center links. The 116713 LN just accepts it's nature without misconception.

I wod buy the watch you want from a trusted seller here. They are not Rolex official dealers but if you buy from Takuya, DavidSW, OCrolexguy (Ocwatchguy on his website) or other trusted sellers on here, you honestly have nothing to worry about IMO. It may be new, but more likely "as good as new" but condition will be disclosed and I imagine you won't pay much more than you would from an AD plus tax.

Alternatively, get on a fee lists by visiting in person and chatting to the sales people and wait for a call.
