To each his/her own!

Hi gang!

My best pal is a gazillionaire, and owns many Rolexes of all kinds of different models. The thing that I find interesting about his collection is that every one of his watches have diamond markers. His wrist, his money, I get it, but in my case I have an aversion to diamond markers and bezels. I can’t be the only person who doesn’t want his watch to look like it came from some rapper’s estate sale. Opinions? Thanks everyone.

Think you said it yourself. To each his own. No I’ve never been a fan of diamond dials/bezels etc., but one thing I do know is that my tastes evolve over time. For example, I used to detest all gold watches, but now I find myself lusting constantly for a YG sub.

Watches are like clothes. People like styles that will reflect their personality. Everyone has different tastes, and what looks great to someone, may look too gaudy or "loud" to someone else. I suspect your friend is a showy kinda person and probably not an introvert?

I personally do not care for any watches with diamonds or stones. That's just my preference though. Even diamonds on the dial by themselves as markers, does not really appeal to me.

I don't own one with diamonds but I do love the look of diamond markers.

I'd sell my soul for the platinum dd40 with meteorite dial and diamond bezel.

Love diamond markers, diamonds are beautiful, one of the undeniably most beautifullest stones that exist ..just not on my Sea-Dwellers or Explorers. In fact, I wish the 116613LB was offered with a diamond marker.

As you said, to each their own so not sure what's the point of this. Just to vent I guess.

I am not fond of diamonds on men’s watches, women’s OK. However, I have been lately searching for meteorite dials especially on JLC watches.

As you said, to each his/her own.

I don't mind diamond markers altho their lustre is somewhat diminished from being under the crystal so not sure it's worth it. On bezels and such is too much for me, most diamond bezels make the watch look really fat as well.

I know the forum predominantly prefers no diamonds but they do add a little more spice to watches. I own 3 Rolex watches with diamonds and love em but the great majority of collection are without diamonds so using the ones with diamonds is a nice change.

BTW, would not want a bezel with diamonds but would make an exception for the Platinum DD with meteorite diamond dial and bezel shown above as my beef with the platinum DD is the smooth bezel. Strongly prefer the fluted but the baguettes on this watch would be a nice compromise.

I'm a fan, especially on the meteorite dial.

I think I like them least on a champagne dial, for the sole reason that they are the only thing on the watch that's not yellow gold! :) Now..yellow diamond markers on a champagne dial DD... yes!

I like diamond markers on dials - I leave the diamond bezels for my wife.

Patek Philippe 5170P changed my mind about diamond markers. Diamond paved dials, cases, and bracelets are a totally different story.

I like the Baguette dial, I’d like to have one of these one day. I’m not crazy about the square diamond markers, diamond bezels or paved dials but as has been said before; to each his own.

I think men who incorporate diamonds in their jewelry/watches want to make statement. I personally wouldn't be caught dead wearing diamonds, but hey if you feel the need....

I appreciate precious metals but I was never into jewelry so bling on a timepiece is a no for me. One diamond ring is fine but after that count me out.

I wouldn't want diamonds on a sport model, but I'd definitely rock a DD with a diamond dial.

The only diamond dial I'd consider is on the Platinum DD 40, otherwise they are not for me.

I can appreciate the beauty of some of the diamond infused watches, but for me, I'm not a shiny/sparkly kinda guy, so I wouldn't wear one of them.

And there are some that are so over the top as to be ridiculous, like the multi-colored Daytona. In my opinion, of course.

People come with different likes and different tastes! Yellow gold and diamonds aren’t for me but if someone else likes them then by all means, may they enjoy it!

I put on a DD40 YG, diamond bezel, maybe diamond markers too. As I'm putting it on I'm wondering to myself how feminine this will look and how much I'll hate it. After snapping the clasp closed and turning my wrist over, I loved it. Absolutely thought it was brilliant. Never would have thought this without putting it on. Moral of the story: you just never know what will hit the sweet spot.
