Anyone had experience with these?

Well first of all let me say everything is going great and school is out for summer!! Anyway. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Costa Del Mar sunglasses. I ordered a pair yesterday from Overtons. I was going to get the pair they had there, but they had a scratch on the frame. I got the fathom in black with the blue mirror lenses. If anybody has had any experience with Costas in general let me know how they are.

Thanks, Tyler

Hi, Tyler Long time no see. I have to wear sunglasses polarized sunglasses, if I don't the glare kills me. I had a pair of Costa's, I think they were called the lagoon or lagoona, something like that. They were great. A little pricey, but definitely worth it if you're on the water alot. It's a shame they don't float if they did, I would still have them

If they were made out of squirrel nuts they'd float

Welcome back, Tyler. Good to see you again.

As for the sunglasses, can't help you with that brand. My brand of preference is Maui Jim although I also wear Serenetis (Aviators). Heres one site for them: http://www.sunglassesgiant.com/serengeti.html

Hey Tyler, where have you been?

I'm an Oakley man so I can't help you but if you have ordered the sunglasses, isn't it too late for advice.

Mmmm, bunch of girls with all those different sunglasses I need just one: Randolph Research, the one that the USAF used to issue (or still does). No Hokey Pokey Okey, Lafloona, Revolting, Maui Jane, etc.

Hey guys, Adrian brought up a good point. I'm not really asking for advice, just seeing how they are. Anyway I probably should have said how are these compared to Oakley's. I have a pair of Half Jackets with some polorized lenses. I'm just ready for a change. As for you Serengeti fans, my dad wore those before he had to wear prescription.

Tyler

That's one good reason not to wear Serengeti's.........................they weaken your eyesight.

I can't bring myself to buy something other than Oakleys. I have been wearing these for a while now:

Juliet's, with Plasma frame, and Fire Iridium lenses. They are quite durable, and the lenses have a great balance of blocking the glare, but not making everything too dark. Before that I wore a pair of Killer Loops - they were great until someone crushed them......

Years ago had a pair of Serengeti Drivers........they were okay, but not my style any longer.

I've got two pairs of Costa's-love 'em! I leave them on the boat and they have lasted several seasons. I like the rubber compound that they use for the nose and the ends of the bows-very grippy when they get wet...

i like the Oakleys for quadding etc as they are tough as nails.
For daily, I like the Maui Jim's.
Occassionally Costco has them on, about 1/2 price of retail.

Never heard of Costas... home brand from Costco? LOL

I've been wearing a pair of Polo (ralph lauren) glasses for a couple of years now. Cost about $120 but they're good with decent optics.

When I'm skiing and it's not -200C or when I'm cycling I use a pair of glasses made by the Eye-talian company Briko. Naturally, the model I wear is called LUCIFER!
