Interesting video today on YouTube. Rolex Stolen!

Hello everyone! Not sure how to link a video here or I would. But I wanted to bring to your attention a very interesting YouTube video posted this morning where a mugging is captured on camera. Unfortunately, the gentleman was targeted for his Rolex and the thieves were successful.

The YouTube channel is called "Active Self Protection". It's a terrific channel overall and I thought you all might appreciate today's video upload since it deals with a topic that is frequently mentioned on TRF....fear of getting your watch stolen.

Anyway, I thought it might make for an interesting - and educational view. I hope you all stay safe out there!

Time for an “is my Rolex safe in the car park?” thread?

I couldn’t agree more. It’s despicable to see this kind of thing. But it’s a good lesson to stay aware!

The victim could have seen this coming from a mile away. Luckily he was not hurt. Hope they get caught

I didn't watch/listen to everything that wordy Mr. McWordy who was doing all of the talking said, and I'm not sure if he ever made a point worth remembering other than "if there's one there may be two, and if there's two there may be three" but when being attacked by an armed person, there's not much you can do besides just handing it over, whatever "it" is.

BTDT, unfortunately.

I'm not going to stop wearing my Rolex just because of this kind of thing, but then, I don't live in South Africa either. That can be a pretty dangerous place, from what I've read.

UPDATE: It was initially reported in the news as a Rolex, but was instead a regular watch. https://www.2oceansvibe.com/2018/07/...ideos/

Keep your guards up at all time especially when you are wearing a rolex, its a real easy score for ANYBODY. Imagine putting 10 grand cash on your wrist and walking around expecting nothing to happen, and PLEASE do not practice self defense around armed men. A watch is not worth risking your life. Id imagine if he was wearing a presidential rolex he would get smoked for it no questions asked.
