Great forum..so I had to join. From UK

Hi everyone on what I hope will be a informative and above all fun journey towards getting my first Rolex and I hope won’t be the last.
I’ve bought quite a few low cost watches over the years and a handful of ones that although not costing a fortune (Tag Heur F1 watches in the 1990’s) they are still operational but I haven’t worn them due to cracked screens etc. There’s always been something about Rolex’s which have me captivated everytime I see one.
I’m now in a position to say I’m ready to buy one and have been trying to improve my knowledge and this forum has been really helpful so thank you all for your contributions and general views.
I started out thinking of getting a Explorer 214270 Mkii and got my name down with a local WOS (quoted me 3months) found one in another AD a fortnight ago but when viewing it I wasn’t so sure (unsure of the smooth bezel)but I now want the GMT II BLRO Pepsi which of course is in super high demand that some dealers are quoting insane waiting list times. Others simply won’t add me to the list as they have too many already.
I’ve had numerous datejusts which seem too blingy PM / diamonds offered but no thanks. I’m not sure about a fluted bezel
I am patient, and I got the call today and I was thinking straightaway that the unicorn is within reach...only for the AD to say to see if I was still interested in buying a 214270...I’m going to sleep on it but should I pass on an Explorer for the second time especially as I haven’t even viewed in the flesh a unicorn/BLRO but my gut is saying hold out.
On the plus side my wife is very supportive!!
