Tudor Pelagos 2018 Bezel Turning Yello

Hi all,

Recently bought a Pelagos from an AD. Really love the square dials and snow flake hand but after weeks of wearing i noticed the bezel is turning this yellow / patina color? Anyone face similar issues? I am quite particular that my bezel should stay white! Saw on some other forum people were using alcohol to rub away a layer of "thin film" on the bezel.

Will post photos later.

Thanks!

My 2015 blue pelagos hasn't started changing.

Is it possible something stained it?
maybe that's why the cleaning with an alcohol wipe helps.

need to see pics for sure.

It’s probably been in contact with something that has caused it, shower gel, suntan lotion, detergent, oils and WD40 can change the colour

I have owned a Pelagos since they were introduced and currently have the Blue and the LHD. No issues and I have never seen what you describe. I would speculate that something is on the bezel and the bezel has not turned a different color but we will see. Post some photographs.

Stop storing it in a pickle jar!

j/k

Sounds almost impossible IMO. Take a pic with proper lighting.

A quick google search for this will likely reveal the reason...let’s just say it’s a forbidden topic here.

I saw that same quick google search but this watch was from a reputable authorized AD. Would be quite mortified if an AD sold me a fake.

edit: photos are up. The bezels shade of white is slightly off from the dials.

Odd, not heard this before. As other stated have to see pics. Modern Rolex/Tudor really do not patina.

Looks fine to me. I think it's just that the white on the hour markers is so bright and is also lume filled that it highlights the differences in various lighting conditions. Think CFL lighting.

Probably a reason why Rolex uses Platinum on the Ceramic inlays on their similar models if I had to guess.

please wait while a mod approves my photo post, thanks all. I heard tudor had some issues with date and all but nothing wrong with the bezel. Gave it a good wipe but its still yello-ish

That's interesting but are you positive that the bezel was not from a Tudor Pelagos LHD?

I can see the bezel markers are off white and definitely not the same white as the hour markers, looks like a LHD bezel to me

It is probably just the lume within the bezel turning a bit off-white. If this had happened to a Rolex people would be bidding it up like crazy.

I can see the difference when comparing it to the bright white indicies on the dial. Super strange.

I have one and sometimes the bezel actually gets dirty and looks a little yellow, but I can wipe it away with heavy pressure on a micro cloth.

Far prefer the two liner and no problems since purchase - lovely, white bezel and ETA movement keeping brilliant time
