RubberB or Everest

Thinking of getting rubber straps. What’s everyone experienced between the two manufacturers.

Rubber b is way better.but more expensive. I have a rubber b on my bb and my sub C.i did have an Everest at one point but it's too fat and does not taper nice .and its not 100 percent perfectly fkush at the lugs Like the rubber b also the rubber b has a nicer design in the vucanised rubber and texture .i sold the Everest imo they look too bulky and dare I say ugly.

I can’t speak to those two, but I did look at them to put on my GMTc. I ended up sourcing an oysterflex and some end links and absolutely love the rubber strap. Totally changed the watch and have a hard time taking it off to wear my expII now and then.

Jerz, are you talking about the rubber bracelet on the Cosmograph? I spoke to Rolex and they weren't too keen to discuss selling me an Oysterflex. They went as far as saying, if you change the bracelet, it may have warranty implications. Love to see them try to enforce that piece of absurdity.

Effectively, they're saying you can't buy a strap in-house but if you go aftermarket we'll mess with your warranty. Very odd.

The same oysterflex that’s on the yacht master as well. Most will not sell you the oysterflex unless you have one of the 2 models that come with it. Unless you have a good relationship with an AD and they just order it anyway or by chance by it form someone elsewhere. I don’t know how the could possibly void a warranty as if I had to send mine in it would be put back on the bracelet first.

For what it’s worth, I flicked an email question to both of them and they both responded quickly - so they seem to both have pretty good service standards. Where the difference seemed to be was around range. One of them couldn’t do a Jubilee with clasp conversion.

Horus... cheaper and same material. Quit paying more for a name. Much better alternatives out there. 150.00 per set.

I am pretty positive the horus straps are silicon.

I went for the Horus and was disappointed. Very thin and too short for 7.5" wrists.

The Rubber B for the SD43 is designed to be used with the Glidelock clasp.

The straps for your BBB are designed to use the Tudor deployant buckle (pr any tang buckle) so won’t work with the Tudor clasp.

Makes since. One more question since you seem to know. I have a Tudor leather strap with the deployment buckle, but the buckle looks to be permanently attached to the strap. It’s not a typical spring bar connecting the buckle to the leather, it’s a much wider steel bar that doesn’t have any grooves or places to place a tool when removing. I would take the deployant off of the leather strap if I could get it off, but don’t see how to. Any ideas?

I think its a shoulderless spring bar that you remove by pushing through from the outside (as you would with drilled lugs) ?

I did one on my BB Steel...

Which buckle do you have? My original on my rivet bracelet is not compatible, so sourced one on Ebay.

Neither. Get a smarty end link and go to town with Barton bands from Amazon at less than $30. Leather. Silicone. For the price of one Everest you can have 5. The folks at Barton have a pin you can put in or take off with no tools!

I’ve never owned an Everest strap but I do own two RubberB’s and can vouch for their quality and comfort. Aesthetically speaking, I also believe that the RubberB is simply a better looking strap.

They make these to work with Rolex deployant clasps?

I prefer Everest. I like the design better, find it more comfortable and supple out of the box, depending on the model you might need to cut the rubber B strap which is a huge fail IMO, that’s only if you’re going with a deployant strap (otherwise non issue).

Quality of both products is exceptional.

I've been wondering about this. How does the Barton band attach to the end link? Do I just need an end link from Smarty and a 20mm rubber strap?

It totally depends on the shape of your wrists, the aesthetic you like, and what you want the feel of the strap to be. You will find those who swear by Rubber B and some who swear by Everest. Everest is softer and many say its easier to install. Some say it fits the wrist better. I would encourage you to look at both in person, although I think both have free returns. The Everest also has more holes and it might be easier to get a better fit. I decided to go with the buckle versus the clasp, as the buckle completes the more casual rubber strap look.

As far as Horus, I believe its made of a cheaper silicone. I would go with one of the other two.

I had to choose between the two a couple of weeks ago. Went with the Rubber B and am very satisfied with it. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing mine and there were a ton of positives for both brands. I actually prefer the look of the Rubber B a bit more. Ultimately I went with the Everest because the holes were closer together and I figured I'd have a better chance to get a perfect fit. It's a great strap and I did get a great fit both on the wrist and on the watch (no gap, perfectly flush). I may try the Rubber B in the future just to compare but I'm 100% happy with the Everest.

I have both at the moment, started with Everest and recently picked up the RubberB. As others have previously mentioned, they are both fantastic and high quality rubber straps.

If your wrist is smaller you'll likely find the downward bend of the RubberB to fit and look better as it follows your wrist better. On my 6.5" wrists I thought my Everest for my Explorer bowed out in an ellipse shape too much. I very much like the way RubberB bends down from the lugs. I imagine on bigger wrists the Everest might be praised more.

+1 - I've had both and the Everest really buldges out - not a nice look if you have small wrists. The Rubber B is a lot more sleeker.

Unfortunately the Rubber B has to be cut if you want deployment clasp. In that respect the Everest is a lot neater with its sizing.

I think it was mentioned but Everest also has the option of buckles instead of the deployant clasp. Rubber B only has the deployant clasp option from what I saw on the website.

I don’t have either, because they didn’t support explorer ii 42mm but looks like rubber B does at the moment. Everest has not released their product for the exp ii 42mm yet which is what I’m waiting for, with a buckle.

It fits the contour of my wrist better than Rubber B.
