Cellini 5112 History
Any Cellini history buffs out there that know the history of the Cellini 5112?
It’s a fun 32mm Gold Rolex that was made in the 90’s with a Cal 1601/1602 manual hand mechanism. Very light 33 grams. Rolex didn’t offer many options. So it was, I think, a limited edition. They all look pretty much alike and are very collectible. Production stopped in 2006 (approximately) with the 5115 model. Cellini roared back recently. But what I’m after is what was the theme behind the 5112 and any other history. I’ve read it was purchased by the art types rather than divers or racers. But that was one blog. Thanks in advance if you know the history. |
