SS Daytona or TT Bluesy?

I have the option of purchasing a SS Daytona and currently own a TT Bluesy.
I am aware the Daytona is difficult to get hold of however the look and beauty of the Submariner blue face is stunning so making this a difficult choice.
I’d like to know what the forum thinks of this?

SS Daytona or TT Bluesy?

Daytona hands down! But if having what you really like on your wrist is the importance then you need to decide which makes you smile to see on your wrist.

I have both and have to admit that the Bluesy is a great looking watch also...clearly, the Daytona is what most would go with due to the demand for that watch.

Just to add...if you can then retain the Bluesy and add the Daytona of that is an option.

Only buy the watch if you want it. If you don’t - pass and let someone else have a go at it.

In my own experiences - if I have to ask my self IF I want - or should buy something — the answer is usually a pretty simple no.

Don’t buy a watch just because of the hype — that’s a recipe for pure disappointment. At the end of the day...it’s a watch.

Good luck!!!

This.
For me, my Bluesy all day long over a Daytona.

Which one do you want?

Do you need a chronograph or a dive watch?

Whichever you’ll enjoy the most....go with that! Don’t buy because of hype or so called investment purposes. JMO

The Daytona wears small. That's why I like it. That's also why lots of other people didn't before the hype-fest.

Buy what what YOU really want and not the hype. Five years ago on this forum the Daytona was a ladies watch and people prayed for a 42mm version. Now it’s a legend. Go figure. However if you are taking an investment angle go daytona

If you own the Bluesy and have been offered a steel Daytona, I would buy the Daytona. If you don’t love it after 1 month, sell it to someone here.

I think you stated the right choice "Submariner blue face is stunning"

Don't buy something because it's hard to get ......

Agree with the "hype" concept and wear what you like.
Took me a long time to afford a Daytona, and when I finally did I swear I couldn't tell what time it was on the black dial without my glasses! Switched to Explorer and couldn't be happier.

Add the Daytona IF YOU LIKE IT AND WANT IT, wouldn't let go the TT Sub Date LB, like you said, it is stunning.

if youre referring to the 116500 at msrp, then you should buy daytona. If you dont like it after a while you can resell at premium

The LB is a true classic! Stunning sunburst blue dial and totally legible dial and awesome wrist presence-you will deeply regret letting it go and for what?
The Daytona dial is extremely difficult to read-more so in reducing daylight and forget using the chronograph functions-impossible!
The Zenith Daytona had to go to be replaced by the LB-a move that I have never regretted!
P.S You may need to buy a pair of reading glasses as well!

For wearing I much prefer the Bluesy. However if you can get a SS Daytona at msrp, the question answers itself. CC the Daytona, flip it, and wear the better looking watch (bluesy) with money in the bank.

In my opinion (yes, everyone has one) the Blusey is a better looking watch. But, I would buy the Daytona and hold onto it for a while. Who knows...it may 'grow on you'.

Sold my Bluesy for the D500 white when my AD called me 2 years ago. No regrets at all. The bluesy is beautiful but too flashy and screams Rolex for me.

I'd keep the Blusey. It is a thing of unique beauty as well as being a superb watch. I find the Daytona difficult to read. The sub dials might as well not be there.

What you do is up to you.

It sounds like you really like the bluesy more than the Daytona.

If you have the option to buy a Daytona from an AD you would be crazy not to unless you truly don't like the watch or don't enjoy it doubling in value the second you take ownership...lol

Buy the Daytona and see if you like it. It will probably be a long time before you get another shot at one.
