RSC Collins Street in Melbourne, Australia

Hi All,

First post ever, just need a confirmation from you all especially those who resides in melbourne. I rang RSC in collins street and asked if i could get my watch polished and was advised that they do not provide polish only service, the watch must also be serviced (cost would be minimum of AUD 500.00). Can anyone help me with info on any good jeweller around melbourne that do really good polishing, and how much it would cost. (my watch is TT daytona D series might be usefull to determine the cost of polishing)

Thank you all

Welcome aboard!

There's a guy called Radford in the city who seems to have a rep for polishing work. Steve (Lol-x) knows more and would probably be able to help you out.

That's right there is a guy called Radford who works in Antiquorum in the arcade off Elizabeth St (between Collins and Little Collins Streets).
He has quite a reputation for good polishing and most shops even send their watch to him for polishing. Expect to pay up to $150.

I had my Tudor serviced by Philip Gore at Ferntree Gully watch and clock.

He chose to have Rolex install a case kit but had another fellow do the polishing since he believed that this guy did a better job than Rolex.

No compliants with the service, quality or price.

Yeap, Radford Patel is the man!

Radford is an absolute specialist at returning a Rolex to it's factory like finish.

It's amazing what he can do.

You'll find Radford in the Block Arcade off Collins/Elizabeth Street.

Kind regards

Michael, I believe Radford does the polishing for Phil. I've got absolutely no complaints about Phil's work. One odd thing is that he doesn't have a timing machine in his workshop.

Thanks for that and thanks again because I'm pretty sure that I found Phil through a reference on one of your old posts.

I wasn't aware and am not too concerned about the timing issue since the Tudor was gaining minutes per day following years of neglect. Also Phil prefers to work on the older watches and I get the impression that he likes the old fashioned ways.

My pleasure, Michael. Phil's seriously old school - I do love his solemn-as-a-judge manner.

4_real, I expect that dropping it off at Antiquorum would be OK, but check with Steve or Chris about that.
