Submariner help
Hello, I had an older Sub, 14060, and stupidly sold it a few years ago. As you can imagine I deeply regret it now. Fortunately, I have the option of purchasing a new Sub, 114060, in the near future. My question is has anyone had a look at the new Sub? How does it compare in size to the older model. I have a very small wrist and I'm a little worried about it being to large. My wrist measures about 6.5 inches.
Thank you all for your opinion and assistance. |

The 14060 definitely wears smaller, but the 114060 is suitable for a 6.5 inches wrist

The current one is much better, in pretty much every way, unless of course you dislike the way the new one looks. The bracelet of the 114060 is great.

I think you'd be fine to pull off a 114060. They do wear noticeably larger though.

I have a 6.25 inch wrist, have a 116610 (same size), no concerns at all, gets compliments all the time. Pull the trigger quick before it's gone ;)

It all depends on your wrist shape.
Try one on...and buy it if you like the way it looks. |

14060
14060 I would think would fit a 6.5 wrist better. Unless you like the larger watches.

After having a 14060 I would think the biggest adjustment for you would be the maxi case, specifically the bloated lugs on the 114060.

Definitely try it before you buy. I did and went with a 14060. There are some things that are great about the newer model. Bracelet feels like a solid piece of steel that bends; hard to explain. Clasp is great with glidelock but kind of chunky.
In the end I just didn't like the shininess of the ceramic bezel and the blockiness of the case. I do like the larger indices and hands. |

I wear a 114060 on my 6.25 inch wrist and think it looks fine. I used to own the 116610 in my avatar but now prefer the cleaner look of the 114060. Nobody else seems to care what watch I wear.

You really need to try it on. The super case makes the 6 digit sub feel like a completely different watch on the wrist compared to the 5 digit.
I have 6.75inch wrists and I had the 116610 and 116613, but in the end, couldn't live with the lugs which made the watch feel too blocky on my wrist. Eventually sold them both for a 16610, which I think is much better proportioned for my wrist. |

My wrist is right at 7" I pick my DJ36 every time over my 16800 based on comfort and classic looks. Honestly, I think a 40mm is too big for a 6.5 wrist for everyday wear. If you are involved in water activities on a regular basis I might give the nod to the Sub, otherwise consider a smaller, thinner, lighter, less bulky watch.

Definitely you have to try it before you pull the trigger. I have 7" wrist and couldn't convince myself to 6-digit Subs. It really wears much more like 42 than 40 mm. You have convenient glidelock adjustment but clasp itself takes 70% of my wrist width and makes it uncomfortable even when fitted perfectly. Also blingy bezel and maxi indices increase wrist presence. I wanted to buy 6-digit Sub because it's much more reasonable purchase with 5-year warranty but ended up with 5-digit because it's much more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable for everyday wear.

6” wrists here and my 114060 fits great, more comfortable than my explorer actually. You’ll be fine.

You can't lose (perhaps unless you're buying grey/used). Buy, try, and if necessary sell for what you paid - there's no shortage of buyers for a new Submariner!

The 6 digit Submariner does not wear big at all, perhaps quite the contrary by todays standards.
With your wrist size no problem
