Deepsea 126660 Feedback

I may have the opportunity to purchase the Deepsea Deep Blue ref. 126660. I currently have a Sub ref. 114060. I have tried on the Deepsea but not actually worn one for any length of time....I've read a ton of reviews and understand the upgrades, movement, etc.

What I'm looking for is some feedback from those who have, or have had it, on the comfort, how it wears, feels, etc., on a daily basis as compared to the much smaller Sub (which is very comfortable).

I'm just shy of 6' and weigh about 175 lbs with wrists just a bit shy of 7".

Spectacular watch! Definitely know your wearing it, vs the sub, weight wise. Depending on how you wear your watch will make a big difference as well, this one is top heavy if you wear your watch a little loose. The new dimensions should fit your wrist ok lug to lug, if your wrist is fairly flat. The thickness is the part you’ll have to really take a hard look at and see for yourself.

I wore one for nearly 6 years. I found it to be very top heavy, I never forgot I was wearing it plus I was always knocking it into doorways etc. Eventually traded it in .

Very similar to me in size, weight and wrist size. It’s great. No biggie to wear. After a day or two it just feels “normal”. Do it.

It’s bad ass, and wears more comfy than the ceramic subs. 116660 does anyway.

Thanks for the quick feedback! My wrists are much more flat than round, and my worry is not so much the case size but the fact that it is nearly 18 mm thick....like I said earlier, it's hard to get a sense of daily wear just trying it on at the AD.

Here's my biggest concern and the main reason for the questions - the only way I could really afford the Deepsea would be to sell the Sub and possibly another watch I have (non-Rolex). Trying to decide if its worth it....I really love the Sub, and it'd be tough to beat.

I have both and love both. The DSSD is very comfortable IF you wear it on the tighter side. But it’s still not as comfortable as the Sub. It almost is but not quite.

In you’re case I would keep the Sub until you’re absolutely certain you want to “Go Big or Go Home”. Because it’ll definitely be different. Good luck.

The only watch I had that was 15 mm thick was a Tudor BB. I kept bumping into things and had issues with sleeves. Sold it eventually. I can only imagine my struggle with an 18 mm one. But that’s just me...

I have about the same size wrist as you and my dssd wears just fine even when compared to wearing a sub. The dssd just feels bigger and heavier; but on the daily it isn’t uncomfortable for me at all.

This is on my list as well. I have a tiny wrist but that blue dial is incredible looking. Does anyone know the weight difference between this and a sub like the OP was suggesting?

I have about a 7” wrist and think it wears just fine. It is definitely not as tall as some other watches I have but is tall compared to other Rolex. You do have to be more aware of it on your wrist - it is a magnet for banging into things.

I think if you spend the time to have it fit correctly you will have no problem on comfort at your size.

Based on reviews on this forum, I had the diver-extension removed right away and then didn’t need any links removed to size it correctly. However, the clasp was hitting a vein on my wrist at an angle and it made my hand numb. I had a link moved from the 6’oclock side to the 12 and that made it all better. From then on it has fit as well as my Explorer II and after a few moments, I don’t even remember it is there.

The difference between the Sub and the Deepsea is 2.1oz or 60grams

The Deepsea wears great!! The weight balances very well on the latest version. Also the thickness concern goes away after a week or so of wearing it.

love my deepsea i use it seven days a week , only problem i have with it is whenever you want to try on a gmt or a sub or a daytona , they feel so small , be prepared to like the size of it and it affecting the view of other models

Do it! You have the height and wrist size for it. I have a 6.7” wrist and it sits quite well on mine. It’s a technological marvel and an icon, in my opinion. It is also arguably the reference that may have started all this hype.

I wore one for a long time. Miss it actually and really want to see the new version.

If you love the sub though, i would try to add instead of swap and then make the decision to sell one or the other. Or keep both!

It’s too big and if you don’t wear it fairly tight it’s super uncomfortable when it moves.

I understand you cannot just add it. You will have to sell the sub and another to get into the D-Blue. I would not do that without spending some time at the AD and really looking at it.

I’ve done this kind of thing twice. Gone from sub to larger. Bought the SD43 twice. Wanted to love it. The tiny case back surface area was hurting me and I just could not live with it. Wanted it so bad I tried it again! So I know how it feels to sell a sub and only have the one, larger dive watch.

I would save up and add it later. You have one of the most comfortable watches for our wrist size. Yes, I’m the same as you. Anything bigger and heavier will feel... yep - bigger and heavier. That’s been my experience. Sometimes I look forward to wearing the good old 114060, after a heavier watch, like the WG sub, or a big AP. I would not have the D-Blue without also having a more traditional watch. Sometimes just the weight of the WG sub becomes noticeable.

Several D-Blue owners mention (in other threads) that the D-Blue is a great weekend watch. Code for - it’s not quite comfortable enough for some people, as a daily.

My wrists are 7.25” and flat.

I’ve been looking at the D-Blue. I’ve tried it on twice! I may end up with one. But it won’t be my only diver. Been there (with a larger heavier piece) and I’ll need to have 2 options, including a SS sub or GMT.

YMMV. Happy hunting. That’s the fun part for me.

got the deep sea in black - im same size as you - its one part of my collection - been wearing for 2 weeks straight - definitely bigger and heavier - its a real man watch - get compliments all the time - go for it

No, I would not give up a Sub for the Deep Sea. It’s too large for your wrist. I have a 7” wrist and found the SD43 too big. Couldn’t fall in love with it no matter how hard I tried. Sub is so much more comfortable. Looks don’t matter when comfort isn’t there, for me at least.

Go for it. I upgraded to the Blue and at first I thought I may have made a mistake. However, after about a week I have no regrets. The thickness is noticeable but I can honestly say I haven’t bumped it on anything because of the size. It’s a real head turner and has gotten many more compliments than the green sub I had.

I wear the JC DSSD every day for the past 1.5 years and from a weight/comfort perspective it is perfect. First few days I noticed the weight compared to the titanium watch I had been wearing but after a week the size/weight wasn’t something I noticed. It is an amazing watch.

Deepsea is top heavy and thick

Your sub will be much more versatile.....hoody to dress shirt and suit without a second thought or problem.
