Any ads I can pair with an engagement ring??
Hi I’m in the market for a 15-20k engagement ring and I’ve heard of some people here pairing jewelry with a hard to find watch at certain ADs. I’m looking for a steel sports model watch as well to pair with the transaction
I’m in SoCal, and I am pretty set on getting my significant other a Tiffany ring that’s around 1ct. Are there any ads who can make this happen?? |

Well, I’d start by pricing the engagement ring separately so you know what the “real” price is before being sucked into an unfavorable deal just to get a desirable watch. You may find buying the ring from a reputable jeweler and the watch from a grey dealer may end up being cheaper.

Tiffany doesn’t sell Rolex (though they did in the mid 20th), but would you be open to an estate Tiffany piece at a jeweler that also sells rolex?

Should be able to bundle the ring with a Pepsi or maybe even a Daytona. Just have to shop a few ADs.

Tiffany diamonds are waaaaaayyyy over priced. Right now there is an over abundance of diamonds in the market. Millennials aren’t buying diamonds. DeBeers is sucking wind.

Call govberg. Call any Rolex dealer that sells diamonds they would love to make a deal with a customer buying diamonds. As someone who’s gone through this 5 years ago I’d go to Jamesallen or Ritani or Bluenile and find her a nice 2 carat and she will be ecstatic. Worry about your watch later.

Having gone through this just a few months ago I found a James Allen / Blue Nile equivalent here in Sweden and got a fantastic diamond cut to much better proportions (Super Ideal cut with Hearts and Arrows) with all the right angle dimensions for the crown, pavilion, table size etc. I was amazed and sort of enjoyed how much research can be done on diamonds. Much like watches. It’s like someone walking into an AD with no clue and paying sticker price on a hublot or something. Do the research! :)

Buy the diamond, not the ring (or the watch!)
Get the best diamond you can (using the 4C's) and then just get the ring made up in Plat. The mark up on high Street diamond rings is enormous. Often achieved by making a ring with a well below quality diamond. Go to the diamonds dealer and get a certified diamond, well cut, D-F colour and F-VVS. And forget the brand. You should get an amazing stone with 20k USD. Sorry doesn't help with watch purchase...... |

Yeah don’t bundle. Check out Whiteflash and Brian Gavin. They offer incredible stones. I bought the wife’s from Whiteflash and we couldn’t be happier. It’s all about the cut. We went to a few appraisers in the UK and they couldn’t believe what we paid for the quality (even when I factored in paying the extra money for tax and customs).
There are plenty other specialists too in the US. Best of luck. |
